Why are they selling popcorn at the theatre? It is very annoying to hear someone crunching and munching, especially when they try to use their cell phone. No wonder audiences behave so badly these days.

When I went and saw it last fall I couldn't believe it. I felt like I was at a movie.
well if there is any show to eat at, it would be hairspray.
A little off the subject, but go to Patti's website and read her January ramble about candy wrappers in the theatre, guys drinking cans of beer in the first row and wanting to high-five Michael Cerveris. It's crazy out there...
when i went to this one show a couple of kids brought popcorn and candy to the theatre and hid it in there pockets and i friends with them...i said "you cant have that in hear, its just wrong" and they denied it...so i had the usher make them throw it out
i hate when people disrespect that much, its so annoying
It's almost as obnoxious as having people walk up and down the aisles of the Hilton yelling "Programs!" "Chiity cars and light up necklaces!"

And you all have perfect theater etiquitte?
Besides the concessions........Can we talk about how they dress at the Theater?
Some people come looking like they were distributed free tickets to Broadway Shows from their local trailer parks.
EEEEK
The theater is a sacred place...People !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's respect it.

The theater used to be a sacred place. It isn't anymore. Shows are now put on for the hell-of-it....let's combine the music of Clay Aiken and the lingustic talent of Paula Abdul (kidding, of course) and call it a show. It's about money.
best12bars- Haha. Actually, a guy sitting next to me at Mame asked me whether the show had a half time or not. I stared at him blankly until he said, "ya know, the break in the middle of a show." Then I realized he meant intermission.
Could be worse though- he seemed to enjoy the performance and did not annoy me.

I would bet many of the people on this board do have great theatre etiquitte. (Most) people here respect shows. I know I have great theatre etiquitte.
no, nachos and hot dogs were at the San Diego Civic Theater for Little Women.
Last Sunday at Hairspray, was a woman two people away who insisted on eating candy and making noise with her wrapper as she did. She was not young, probably mid to late 60's and should know better
When I saw Q in Vegas, anyone who sat down next to me with popcorn I was going to pay them to throw it away.
The world has gone man I tell you mad.

This is a shame. It's too bad the theatre doesn't have the same class as it used to/should.
