My brother and his friends were walking around Portland and they passed a Scientology center. That showed a film about them every 15 min. My brother was thinking about seeing it due to being curious but he was convinced that they would brainwash him.

Correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand it James Barbour isn't the only scientologist connected to ATOTC. Aren't Jill Santoriello and a number of the production people also attached to the cult?
mallardo, I don't know for sure. I do know that James is the only one to have been vocal about his membership to the cult. He did used to have links to article that were anti psychiatry articles. But, he was told to take them down. Keep in mind that this wasn't (at least I don't think) during his time with Two Cities but at least they were up there in the past.

I don't normally comment on such things on message boards, but here it goes anyway. I don't understand how some of these people of a more prominent religious faith can go about protesting someone else's faith and think it makes sense to do so. Ok, sure it seems crazy to me to think we were put here by aliens and then to give thousands of dollars to the church, but is it really more crazy than believing we were all put here by a super being known as God and putting thousands of dollars into a collection basket throughout the course of a lifetime? No, not really.
Also, why single out one specific family in this faith and protest everywhere they go, and why do it at a Broadway show. A lot of those people are purporting to be Katie sympathizers, as if she couldn't leave if she wanted to, and yet they are trying to doom her job by protesting at the show, which has nothing at all to do with the Scientology faith. It would make the same amount of sense if Rev Fred Phelps were to come protest every Broadway Musical because they feature gay people in the cast, which would make no sense at all.
I hope my rambling here actually made some sort of sense.
