I wonder why it's on two discs. It doesn't really seem like the amount of extras justifies that.

I don't like how they have Rosario and Taye on the spine though. They shouldn't have anybody on the spine since it is such an ensemble cast. Updated On: 1/9/06 at 04:51 PM

I guess the rumor that the special edition was going to have a later release was false. Thank god.

The artwork is interesting... I'm not sure I like it. Why couldn't they leave it like the cd cover? And Mimi/Benny on the spine is very random. Should not be there in my opinion either. Well, I'm just happy it's coming out I guess. i want my copy now!

Love the artwork, hate how they always put Rosario and Taye first just because they're more mainstream actors. GRRR. With Rosario, it's okay because her part was pretty much the female lead, but Taye's character was hardly fleshed out at all in this version.

Le sigh. I guess that's what you can expect though. Whatevs. Still sounds like it's gonna be good, what with the extras and stuff!

well, one could argue that they're always listed first because they happen to come first in alphabetical order :)

don't know why they'd choose them for the spine though...why the need for ANYONE on the spine?

I like it, but I think I'm going to make on like the Rent bible and use it as my own, so mine is different than all my friends. But that's just me.

I might just leave it alone. I think I have to see the actual thing. I like it though

It's not random. They are the two biggest names in the film, though Taye's star has dwindled in the past few years.

Rosario and Taye are on the spine because more people will recognize their faces, and I can accept that.

I'm not sure if I like the artwork. It just seems too rainbow-y for RENT.

They are the two biggest stars in this film, but this movie doesn't revolve around it's two biggest stars. It revolves around the whole ensemble. It would have been cool if they had put a picture of like Jonathan Larson on the spine, but most of the mainstream audience would have no idea whose face it is.

They can cram in a lot of special features with two discs, so I'm really excited for that aspect.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of that artwork. I mean, I get what they were going for, but I think they should have just used the movie poster... maybe do a different variation of that. This one will further make people think of Rent as "that gay movie" (which I've heard it referred to as). I do, however, like that they listed ALL of the cast on the front, not just Rosario, Taye, Idina and Jesse.

Why couldn't the artwork just be the movie poster? I don't dislike it, but I wish they had left it alone.

And poor Anthony and Taye. Everyone else has a couple and they are left at the very right of the picture by themselves. Kind of sad.
