HEY GUYS-
RENT MUST BE R. it will not be RENT if it is not rated R.

Posted: 11/27/04 at 11:19amif it's not rated R i'm not seeing it. it wouldn't be RENT.

BEKA-Exactly.
NEW TOPIC-What do you think of the Hospital sceene.
I think it was a GREAT inclusion that works wonderfully in a cinematic atmosphere.

Posted: 11/27/04 at 11:33amI'm assuming you mean the Angel hospital scene? I like it. I think it's very realistic. The stylized way that they do Contact in the show just wouldn't work on screen.

I also really liked the hospital scene with Mimi in the Chbosky screenplay. I would actually like to see Roger sing Your Eyes to her in the hospital though. Somehow that seems more realistic than the "oh, look, Roger played a song and she came back to life. Yay, everyone's happy now! The end!"
I mean, as much as I like that on stage, I'm afraid it might come off as kind of corny in the movie.

Posted: 11/27/04 at 12:08pmI think if it is done right, Your Eyes will work.

Posted: 11/27/04 at 1:10pmWell, he did tell someone that using the OBC was because he heard that fans wanted him to. So we do have some influence. Who knows, maybe he even does.

With all due respect, guys, the last thing CC is going to, or needs to, do is consult with Rentheads on the movie. He has many informed and respected people who have been involved with Rent since the beginning to consult with if the need arises. Not only the cast but Michael Greif, Tim Weil, the producers, etc. Let's not get a little too crazy here!
Also, I don't necessarily agree that it wouldn't be Rent if it didn't get an *R* rating. The stage version is not R-rated, it has no advisory, unlike other Broadway shows.

Posted: 11/27/04 at 1:48pmi'm not saying he has to look on here.. im just saying for additional ideas.. or if he's contemplative on something..

Posted: 11/27/04 at 2:43pmSomeone said something about Your Eyes. If Adam is in this movie, we need Your Eyes. The end.

Posted: 11/27/04 at 2:50pmGuys...no worries. It's there. All I was saying is that I would like to see the Chbosky hospital scene (which doesn't have it) combined with the Columbus traditional loft scene (which does).
