well people bring in camcorders in movie theaters all the time. I would rather watch a puddle than the camcorder quality movies. But like in Jurassic Park "Life finds A Way"
Carmike is not recording it for the broadcast. Sony Hot Ticket is the company recording and distributing the film. And Sony does do DVDs... not that this means that it will go to DVD, but it very well could.

Regal is doing the same thing.
What the hell. None in MA?! This is just a bad day all around.

I doubt it's exclusive to Carmike. They are probably just the first cinema to announce the schedule...and how is this simulcast? RENT closes on Sept. 7, so the broadcast is most definitely not live.

Will other theaters be doing this? There are no theaters close to me and I REALLY wanna see it.
Well that's better. There's a Regal 5 minutes from my house. Limiting this to Carmike movie theaters sounded ridiculous; glad that wasn't the whole story.

Well depending on where you live even Regal may be out because they're only showing it in 129 Regal Theater complexes.
God Damn IT!! It isn't being shown in Binghamton, someone better get it.

Where's the Regal list?
I didn't mean it would definitely be showing in my backyard. But Regal is more common to this area than Carmike (about 20 theaters within an hour distance, whereas the closest Carmike is out of state), so chances of it being nearby are more likely with Regal participating as well.

What regal theaters are gonna do it? Will AMC do it as well?
Why is this Cinema chain in all the ghetto parts of Texas?

they did a good job picking the least prominant movie theatre chain in the world. its probably easier for some people to travel to NYC than to go see this.

So more places for RENT to screen in front of an empty cinema.
This will be exciting
I'm surprised that they didn't use a more wide-spread theatre chain. I'm going to have to drive at least 2 hours if I want to see this. Boo!
Rent, the movie, was awfull! Why of all shows would they bring that back??
I would like to see Delerium.....
Johnny, this is the final night of RENT on Broadway plus special closing night features.
Here is the list of UA/Regal theaters showing Delirium. I would suspect the same theaters, or some of them, will show RENT.

O.K..... sorry about that! I assumed it was going to be the movie version=-)
Not being nasty or sarcastic, but did you not read the 1st post in this thread? It does say the stage production and there are a few other threads on the subject. Just an FYI!!

I hope so. Then I can see it at the 14th St theater.
Everytime someone mentions RENT I roll my eyes, yet when I saw the Regal list, I immediately sent out a blast e-mail to make plans to go see this. I guess this goes hand-in-hand with badgering my friend who has a connection at our local concert venue to get us backstage to meet Idina when she stops here later this month so she can sign my Wicked and Rent Playbills from when I saw them with her and didn't stagedoor. I hate admitting that I am "that girl" sometimes.
