The Foxwoods is not going to sit without another big show for long if this closes. And it will almost certainly be a better one.
But the odds are it won't employ the large number of people that Spider-Man does.
No, it will employ the small army that KING KONG presumably does.
If a restaurant sucks it should get better or it should close. If you wouldn't give a pass for ****ty service anywhere else why would you let it pass for Spider-Man or any ****ty show? Give something else a shot in it's spot to employ people. Maybe the product that gets put out would be better.
You know who else employs people? Fox News, but people would have no problem watching that fold up quicker than a napkin.

" Broadway's most famous show is completely open to the public."
ummmmmm..
N2N Nate,
The subject of the sentence you partially quoted is "opportunity". The predicate of the sentence is "is".
"To take over the lead role" is an infinitive phrase and "in Broadway's most famous show" is a prepositional phrase.
"This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take over the lead role in Broadway's most famous show is completely open to the public."
I wonder if that's what your "ummmmm" was referencing? Or did I mis-read your post?

King Kong is a worse show than Spiderman. If anyone has intentionally been wishing for Spiderman to close so that something else moves in, well, if Global Creatures gets their way, you'll be seeing something as even more quite unfortunate and a particular waste of money. At least Spiderman actually attempted to have a legible book, even if it isn't to everyone's liking - Kong didn't even bother.
Bump KING KONG. How about a "larger than life" revival of Into the Woods produced by Disney with dazzling scenery and stage effects

Phantom4ever: I believe the "ummm" was in response to this show being called "Broadway's most famous show"
Theaterfan say what yiu want about fox news but it has better ratings then msnbc and cnn combined. So that means its the most successful.
Spiderman gets more butts in the seats then most shows and it employs a small army. It must be doing something right. I loved it.
You clearly have no understanding of how many people this show employs:
Cast, stage management, company management, general management, PR, props, carp, automation, lighting, sound, projection, dressing, hair/wigs, make-up, ushers, box office, stage door, orchestra, casting directors, custodial, agents, and on
Why would you wish these people out of work?
You clearly did not read my post. I said I don't like wishing people out of work. I think that this show is a waste of money, talent, and theater space and could easily be replaced by something better.

Success has nothing to do with the quality of what they put out. And successful is a tricky word. Ratings are one type of success, Good reviews are another. Fox News gets their ratings through lying, fear mongering, and baiting the lowest common denominator. It's gotten so bad that my dad has given up Fox News because of how crazy they are.

So did Cats. So does Mamma Mia. Chicago people would have liked to see closed years ago when it started its parade of embarrassment. Spider-Man may be putting butts in seats, but it's not anywhere near enough for them to even make their money for investors.

I love attempting to guilt trip why ****ty shows should remain open.

You clearly forgot in your impressive list, the army of lawyers and paralegals.
""fox news.... And successful is a tricky word""
actually its pretty easy. having more people using (or watching in this case) the combined people using your two competitors is pretty much the definition. ratings = people = money from advertisers = success.
And yet you hear things like a Critical success & Technical successes. There is more than one aspect of success to be measured.
TMZ is a monetary success, but they are AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL people.

I'd like to see James Durbin, from 'American Idol' season 10, play the role. Plus, he has done musical theatre beofre.

Perhaps they should cast Darren Criss?
I mean if Reeve is leaving they might as well stunt cast. I like Criss a lot but no matter what he does on broadway it's going to be Stunt casting.
Glee's not going to lend Darren out, especially not with how things have been since Cory's passing. I will say, however, Spider-Man would be a much better fit for Darren than How to Succeed was.
Darren is a Bari/Tenor at best. He could in no way sing the score of Spiderman 8 shows a week. He was stumbling through Shout in that July 4th performance and that song isn't even that high.
He'd only do it 6 times a week.
