It's finally happening on 9/15 and YOU might be the one to replace him since I guess the show has no money for a replacement.
SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, Broadway's high-flying spectacular, is launching a massive coast-to-coast search, to find its next Peter Parker/Spider-Man! The show's original and current star, Reeve Carney, will depart the production on Sunday, September 15, 2013 and two open casting calls, in Los Angeles and New York, are being planned to find his replacement. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take over the lead role in Broadway's most famous show is completely open to the public.

Well, now. THIS doesn't just scream 'publicity stunt' or anything...
Turn Off The Dark doing a publicity stunt? Never.
When I read the Latest Headlines, I completely missed the first part and thought it read SPIDER MAN TO SWING OUT ON 9/15. I almost got excited...

ummmmmm..
He had a good run, everyone else left after a year or shortly after that
His performance was great, and I'm so glad I got to see him.

The show hasn't been the same since Patrick Page left, but Reeve has been the emotional heart of the show from the beginning. I think he'll be missed.
And I'm a little confused as to why they're not just bumping up Jake Epstein as the full time Peter Parker. He's always been a great actor and he's great in this too. He was my favorite character on Degrassi.
According to my friends who work at the theater Jake Epstein is also leaving in the fall...I wish he had gotten bumped up, I really like what he's doing with the role.
CATS i really liked reeve too, but i think when jennifer left is when it changed. she and reeves were really cute together. i wish she would do something, i know she did something at Public but i was away.

Well, this is ummmmmm..... interesting. I'm sad that Jake is leaving but I know he has been involved with the carole king musical. So, maybe that is his next project. But, thank goodness that Reeve is leaving. Hopefully, this will allow him to do other Broadway shows and/or music ventures.

It's not even Broadways most infamous show. It might be Broadway's Biggest Waste of Talent, Biggest Waste of Money, Most Overhyped, Ugliest Score though.
I mean I'm 19, can sing pretty well, kinda look like Peter Parker, I think I'm actually going to go to this open casting call. I might as well. I will probably never get chosen but this might as well be my first NYC audition. Before I even head off to school!

Will do! I'm actually excited for this. I don't wanna get to excited because this is a LONG shot but what song should I do? It said a rock song and I'm thinking something like "Here I Go Again". I love that song and I can do some of the riffs.

Reeve and Jennifer's chemistry in the show was great. But since she, Patrick Page and T.V. Carpio have left, the show hasn't been he same. I miss Page especially since he was my favorite in the show.
My friend the Theater Whore could do it
Too bad there is no "The Search for Peter Parker" reality show on MTV. It could have been.
I may get some hate for this, but honestly, I hope they don't find the next Peter Parker and the show closes. I think it is a huge waste of everything - money, talent, theater space... I don't like wishing people out of work or anything, but honestly, this show needs to close.
Let's not forget that Isabel Keating and Ken Marks are still with the show.

You clearly have no understanding of how many people this show employs:
Cast, stage management, company management, general management, PR, props, carp, automation, lighting, sound, projection, dressing, hair/wigs, make-up, ushers, box office, stage door, orchestra, casting directors, custodial, agents, and on
Why would you wish these people out of work?
As somebody who actually works from show to show, I am so sick of the "terrible shows shouldn't close because people would lose jobs!" argument.
