Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

June 9: Little Mermaid
June 10: Cry-Baby
June 11: A Catered Affair
June 12: Xanadu
June 13: Grease

Who do you think should take the June 11th spot? I'd like to see South Pacific, In the Heights, or Young Frankenstein.

Little Mermaid, Xanadu, Cry Baby, Grease?

UGH! What a waste of "Broadway Week!" With the exception of Xanadu, arguably the worst musicals of the entire season!

Where are ITH, PS, Gypsy, SP, SITPWG?????

There is still one more slot.

I'd like to see "South Pacific" take it. I wouldn't mind "Gypsy," but I already got to see a glimpse of that on "Good Morning America." I haven't had a chance to see anything from "SP."

I'll certainly be watching next week!

i wish the nominated musicals would take it before others.
i know it was only nominated last year.
so, should mermaid really be there?

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

If Young Frankenstein is the last show in.....this is VERY SMART for ratings....the Tonys should've followed suit if they wanted to boost viewers.

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

Regis and Kelly are the tops when it comes to morning show ratings. They don't need help.

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

Not that they need help...but "bigger" shows are more interesting to the general public than smaller shows (such as A Catered Affair or Passing Strange)

HBBrock: But that is why it is a good idea to bring these smaller shows to popular TV shows like Regis and Kelly...to generate interest.

This year sucks.

They had SWEENEY on a couple years ago. Was Raul on last year for COMPANY? I forgot.

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

Usually on their Broadway week, it's Tony nominated musicals like last year it was Spring Awakening, Curtains, and some that I cannot remember of the top of my head and then the year before that it was Drowsy, Pajama Game, Sweeney, Color Purple, and something else. The one year they did it, it was after the Tonys with Avenue Q, Caroline or Change, and Little Shop with Joey Fatone.

I'm looking forward to this year's Broadway Week and I'm kinda hoping for Young Frankenstein to have the spot of TBA.

Wow, crappy Broadway week. That's disappointing.

I actually went to the show when Grey Gardens did their performance last year. Very fun.

Wow, I'm really disappointed there's no Sunday in the Park With George. Hopefully they're the TBA act.

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

I am very disappointed in the selection of shows for the Broadway week.

With the exception of Xanadu, the other musicals were some of the worst of the season.

HBBrock, you are right the the general public like the "bigger" shows, but it is still really disheartening as a theater lover.

I wish it would have been:
Sunday in the Park
Passing Strange
In the Heights
South Pacific
Gypsy
Or Xanadu in place of Sunday or Gypsy

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

Does anyone know if they give out free tickets to the audience on the days the given shows perform?

I'm trying to decide if I should do standby to get into Regis & Kelly.
