There's a range, I think the top was 10,000 but that was maybe for a few tickets and a private table and some other jazz that involves advertising in a program - I think that was for companies.
The tickets that are geared towards individuals are 1000.

I am a bit confused. How many invtes were sent out?
It seems a lot of people requested invitations and now that they are sent out a lot of people are deciding that it is too much money and would love to go but can't.
So my question is, why even request an invitation that is possibly taking seats away from people who truely have every intention on purchasing the tickets once invited?
Did the invitation process work differently then I'm viewing it? Did bascially everyone who requested get tickets?

Posted: 3/17/06 at 11:59amI'm guessing that they sent out a lot of extra invitations and that it's going to be on a first come, first serve basis. Meaning the first people to pay get seats. Just my guess.

That was my impression - anyhow, they have a deadline of the 24th so I don't think there will be a ton of people wheedling around and pondering.
Also, I think they KNOW many a kid emailed them just so they could get an invite - they could probably tell from the emails they got, so I'm sure they're prepared and sent out many more invites than they'd really need.
Anyhow, it was my impression that anyone who requested an invite got one - unless you requested it last week or something.

I work in events management so I know it's pretty normal to send out more invitations than seats. Because you had to request an invitation rather than actually recieving one on a whim, they know they will get more requests than actual seats in the theater. This doesn't set anything in stone, you still have to "RSVP" by buying your ticket
I also had every intention of going when I requested an invitation. However, being that I'm a college student from out of state there are other factors to consider. I could pay for the ticket easily, but I still need to buy a plane ticket, hotel room, food while I'm there, transportation around the city. So that's an extra grand that I wasn't expecting when I requested the ticket

I just got my invitation, through work though, not requesting one.
I am very tempted to go, I am not sure...

wickedlyperfect, did you not know that you'd need a plane ticket, hotel, food, and transportation when you requested the invitation? Just curious.
There are going to be a lot of people who requested tickets who don't end up purchasing one, despite the three charities involved asking that people not do that. A lot of people who always go to this type of event already have their tickets reserved and I'm sure that the rest will go quickly. My guess is that there will be very few Rentheads there that night, other than in the lotto seats.

I didn't get an invitation yet either, and I'll admit that I'm pretty anxious! I'm about 90% sure I'll go..... if the thing ever gets here! I requested it about a month ago- was that too late?
I wonder if it's taking longer to get to me because I live in Chicago...

Hi everyone,
I got my invitation yesterday. I love Rent but I've never (believe it or not) been to Nederlander. These tickets are WAY expensive and I can't choose my seat, so....
What is seating in this theater like? If I'm in the very back row or sitting in the very worst seat, is it worth it? Will I be able to see/hear or should I save my money and get good seats to see the current cast in a regular performance?
Thanks!

Posted: 3/17/06 at 11:05pmThe Nederlander is not that bad a house, but I can guarentee that the tickets they are gonna sell to avergae people will be either all the way on the side, or all the way in the back on the side

You can see, you'll just miss the sides of the stage.
I don;t even know if $1000 is worth it for 6th row center
For me, it isn't
But then again, I did see the original cast on Broadway.
