Anyone think it'll ever happen?

Doubtful. The original is so ingrained in so many people's minds that when they stripped it down for the recent revival, many felt it just wasn't the same.

No.

Not a chance. Perhaps a revamp of this revamp that brings back some of the source material, and has a realistic blood drop in 15 years or so.

Oh, and a high belter in the role of Margaret White. Updated On: 8/4/13 at 03:22 PM

There is going to be a new production mounted in LA later this year.

I'm looking forward to it!

Yes, without a doubt: aka there is someone out there who thinks it will happen. But I don't, not at all.

That's disappointing... I think it could be a hit on broadway with a better destruction scene that was similar to the movie's... because that's what everyone was expecting in the original.

The show wasn't the flop it was because of one scene, love.

The show is not going to be a hit on Broadway with a better or worse destruction scene.

The Off-Broadway production flopped, so...

No. There are fans of both productions, and the folks who'd seen the original for the most part thought that the new one took itself far too seriously. Which, of course, was the problem with the old one, but there was the added issue of contending with audiences who went in expecting the old campy awfulness.

I know you. I know you. I know you.

Some shows don't need Broadway. This has become one of my catch phrases on the board, but Broadway is NOT the be-all and end-all of a show's life. What you've gotta remember is the mantra "NO RECORDING, THEN NO REGIONALS."

Getting your show recorded and getting the rights to regionals, schools and communities will do WAY more for a show's success, reputation and profit than a short, probably unsuccessful, run on Broadway.

Carrie, as much as I love it, will never be a success on Broadway (maybe not even Off-Broadway) but it is going to definitely be and probably already is a regional smash.

What's a regional smash and why will carrie probably be one?
