In a recent interview Hugh Jackman stated he's itching to return to Broadway. I have two roles in mind: the first is Billy Bigalow in Carousel (always thought that he would be perfect in the role) and, how about Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha?
Hugh Jackman in Carousel concert; Amazing, just proves my statement above.
Well that thread title was misleading lol
This is the kind of thread that warrants a question mark at the end of the title, tommcge2 ![]()

If this happened Cynthia Erivos twitter would blow up North Korea.

I'm assuming the OP might have been referring to the article that showed up yesterday stating the Jackman was itching to return to B'way.

Search youtube for "Carousel Hugh Jackman" and you'll find If I Loved You and Billy's Soliloquy from the concert version with Audra.

The VARIETY cover article on Hugh Jackman was written in the context of the upcoming release of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN as well as how his career is now taking shape post-Wolverine :

The new movie musical, while set in the 19th century has a musical score by Pasek&Paul that is written with a contemporary tone ( Have you heard the full version of THE GREATEST SHOW?). And with his mention of HAMILTON and DEAR EVAN HANSEN, it seems that he is looking for new material rather than a revival. There was mention that he was involved in "developing a new musical" and in another past article he did say he would love to return to Broadway with work written by Pasek&Paul. Does anyone know if there is any buzz about the new project?

I wouldn’t be surprised in The Greatest Showman gets adapted for Broadway and Jackman leads the production

The same thought also crossed my mind.
Last year, he went to see Stephen Schwartz new musical SCHIKANEDER in Vienna but nothing has been heard about that. Plus it does not have the contemporary sound that he might have in mind.
We'll see.
What happened to Houdini???

When I was searching for the clips of Carousel with Hugh and Audra I mentioned above, I ran across a 2015 interview with Hugh where he said that plans for a film of Carousel were in development with him as Billy.
I don't remember reading anything else about it so I assume it's in development Hell too.
Sorry, I'm too tired to go looking for the link again.

Best comment of the day. Probably for the rest of the year!
