What an overwhelmingly disappointing cast announcement.
WTF, what happened to Sharon? I thought she was confirmed as part of the transfer (or did she just have first refusal) ? This is pretty disappointing. Hopefully Davine will be good. Also not happy about the Sam
casting. Not too thrilled about Cassie, but also couldn't think of who would be a suitable replacement.
I'm sorry but as someone has seen this many times here in the UK i think it's great both Richard and Cassie are going to Broadway with the show. Both are very good in the show and im thrilled that Richard gets to make his Broadway debut (one of the nicest guys in the world). The pair worked so damn hard on this show so im thrilled.
Im sad Sharon aint going over to Broadway with it though.
Sharon was the one I had really wanted to see. I am thoroughly disappointed in this casting announcement.
Have any of you guys actually seen Richard and Cassie in the show?
Also can we just point out again how wrong Riedel was about this saying that only Clarke would be coming over.
The producers wanted to bring Sharon D. Clarke over with the show, but I'm guessing Equity wouldn't allow them to once they gave them the okay to bring over Richard Fleeshman (since allowing him to transfer over an American actor is a severe stretch.)
Given Clarke's reception in the show, it's certainly a disappointment, but I imagine that it works out better for the London production to keep her in place now that they'll be getting two new leads so relatively early in the run there. I'm sure a lot of incredibly talented women went in for the role here, given how juicy it is, so Da'Vine Joy Randolph must be quite a find.
If this is Da'Vine, let's hope someone helps with her brows...
I wish they'd petitioned Sharon D. Clarke over first. She's the real standout from what I've heard on the recording. Why wouldn't they allow Sharon D. Clarke to come over? (They allowed Elaine Paige to for Follies, among other actors in other shows. It's not like this never happens.)
Sharon's great but let's be honest - It's not as if she was going to sell any tickets to the show with her name.
Didn't we already know about Fleeshman and Caissie?
Neither are Caissie Levy and Richard Fleeshman, Jordan. Nobody aside from those of us on this board knows who either of them is. The show is clearly using the name as its known quantity to sell tickets.
But on the recording, Sharon was the person who stood out. I'd really been looking forward to seeing her live.
Why is Richard Fleeshman coming over with the show? What exactly is the purpose of a union, if not to fight for jobs which should clearly be going to an American actor? Fleeshman isn't any kind of a name, and his performance certainly didn't receive the kind of reviews where the producers could petition him as "uniquely qualified" for the role. Shame on Equity for not having a backbone.

Adam it goes both ways. The same could be said for allowing Cassie to be in the West End production.
What was with Erich Bergen? Maybe he's an understudy or something...?

Levy has been making quite a mark in the theatre world over the last two years. She originated the role of Sheila in 'Hair' on Broadway and in the West End, then she originated the role of Molly in the West End and now on Broadway. It's great she's found success after her unfortunate run in the Los Angeles company of 'Wicked', where she had to quit early due to voice problems.

So all the prophets were completely wrong.
Maybe Riedel needs to start watching Coronation Street.

I wasn't impressed by Sharon D Clarke in the least - her performance is wildly overrated in my opinion, so I don't think she deserved to open the show on Broadway. Richard and Caissie are both great.
What was the point in the Broadway poster then?! Why not just use the London poster with Cassie/Richard. Silliness.
So happy and excited for Richard and Caissie! They were both phenomenal in the London production and I can't wait to see them in the Broadway version of GHOST as well!
I am a bit disappointed to not see Sharon come over though, because she was a real highlight!
Why all the hate for Richard Fleeshman? He's transferring with the show because of the terrific acting performance his abs are giving and I'm totally fine with that.
More importantly, will they stage door?
Oh wait, no one will be waiting.
As talented, nice and well abbed they may be, they won't sell a ducat betwteen 'em. A PR dept.'s nightmare.
As least they will be working cheap and from most reviews, the set is the star of the show.

I do also find it interesting that they chose to push Fleeshman over instead of Clarke, given their respective receptions. But I'm very excited to see this show nonetheless.
I still can't believe Richard Fleeshman is only 22. While he's obviously incredibly attractive, he looks way closer to 30.
I cant believe they're bringing this overwrought absurdity over.
Oh wait. They're selling the TITLE, nothing more.
