Per Riedel today:
August: Osage County will move to the Music Box Theatre in April.
Manny Azenberg has raised the funds to bring Patrick Stewart's MACBETH, now playing at BAM, to Broadway.
Will it be the Imperial, before Billy comes in?

how can they fit august into the music box?

The Imperial is not the only theater open though, what about the Broadway? It has nothing planned until Shrek at the end of the year, does it?
The Cort will also be open by then as well. Although I don't know if the producers of the Scottish play would want that theater.
Ok, I could be missing something here, but he Riedel is referring to this Tony season, correct. He states Stewart's only competition would be Freeman.
Wouldnt "Seafarer" be eligible? What about Norton, or I am totally missing something here?
I think the entire cast of The Seafarer will be considered in the featured actor category.
EDIT- And isn't Reidel overlooking Nathan Lane?

I was thinking lead for Norton, and maybe featured for Hinds, Hill, and Morse?
As far as the Cort--- lot of talk of "39 Steps" moving there.
Couldn't Riedel/his proofreaders or editors get the name of one of the most important songs in the American Musical Theatre canon correct?
Betty Buckley is improvising at Feinstein's, where she's ensconced with her new show, "Then and Now," through Feb. 23. For Saturday's late show, the Tony winner is inviting the audience to submit song requests from any Broadway musical. She'll fashion the act around requests.
"Momma's Turn" anyone?
Momma's Turn?!

The men of The Seafarer were all ruled featured.
Riedel seems to be overlooking a lot of people - Nathan Lane, Norbert Leo Butz, Kevin Kline, Ian McShane, Larry Fishburne - unless he's mentioning just the choices of the spring season.
In any case, Lane/Kline would get my vote. But I haven't seen The Scottish Play yet.
Interesting choice, but I'm sure it will all work out in the end.
stagescreen, I think that was meant to be a joke.
Terrence Howard is another possibility, I think.
Might they try to push James Earl Jones into leading actor?
i think the true misnomer is the idea that Betty Buckley will take ANY request. don't we all know how crazy she'll get if someone demands "And Eve Was Weak"?
Can Augest afford the transfer next door to the music box?
I kind of hope this is true because I wanna see August and cant see it before it's closing date.

Well, considering the show doesn't take a lot to put up (unit set and 13 no-name actors), and it's doing very well for a play with 13 no-name actors, yes, they can afford to move.
And they're currently auditioning Amy Morton's replacement, since she's got commitments at the Steppenwolf in June.
I'm going to miss her.
When this show moves into a smaller house, it'll become a sell-out, especially after it wins the Tony for Best Play.
See it now before those discounts disappear...
I'm glad that "August" will get to play through the Tony season and (I'm sure) reap the benefits of the many Tonys it is bound to receive.
I would be so excited by this. Not only would I get to see Macbeth, which I missed because I didn't jump on tickets fast enough, many more people would also be able to go see August.
This really is shaping up to be one of the best Broadway seasons in a long while.
Now maybe I will get to see it again since I had to cancel my trip this month to NYC. I was supposed to be there right now!
C'monnnnn MACBETH! That would be fantastic.
Could someone remind me who Amy Morton played in AUGUST? I can't remember.
She was the oldest sister Barbara
