".....No, never could I leave you, at all."
And in the most imortant ways he never will leave us.
In memory ever green.
So true, such memories will never leave us and that is the beauty of theatre. Special moments that live forever.
RIP
My first musical, Camelot, with Robert Goulet . *cries*
Very sad to hear this. I posted the story below about a year ago. I will miss Robert Goulet. It's like a part of my childhood has died, too.

The Happy Time was a family favorite. I had the pleasure of seeing it 5 times. (Hey, tickets were cheap then.)
I had seen the revival of La Cage twice, but made an extra trip to the Marquis just to see Mr. Goulet in it because I loved The Happy Time so much as a kid.
Even though I don't usually stagedoor, I felt compelled to that night. My husband and I were the only ones there. (We had a nice long talk with his driver about Mr. Goulet before he came out. His driver seemed genuinely and affectionately devoted to him.)
When Mr. Goulet finally emerged, I stopped him and said that I had to come to see him because The Happy Time was a family favorite, blah, blah, blah.
He was completely charming and sweet. We spoke for a good five minutes and then I asked him to sign my Playbill. He wrote a personal inscription and then gave me a big kiss right on the lips! (My husband was enjoying this whole thing tremendously.)
Believe me, "Robert Goulet, Robert Goulet, my god, Robert Goulet" was swimming around in my head the whole time!
About 15 years ago, I had the pleasure of spending an evening with Michael Rupert who had nothing but lovely things to say about Robert Goulet. I was delighted to see for myself that Mr. Rupert was right.
How sad. He was supposed to come to Denver to sing with the CSO, but he fell ill just before the concert. I wish I could have seen him perform live.
RIP Mr. Goulet
RIP to a very funny and talented man.
He just seemed so much younger than he was. I had the great pleasure of seeing him in my first professional theatrical experience as Arthur in Camelot back in middle school.
I guess it was just his time to go to the great big lounge in the sky. So sad to hear though...The worlds lost a real class act.
Rest In Peace.
Tonight Bob will sleep under an angels' wings! Rest in Peace, you'll never be forgotten!

I actually had the pirvelage to see Robert Goulet's final performance on Broadway in La Cage Aux Folles, and he was just so terrific. So sad,
My heart is broken...
My thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and fans who will sorely miss him.
RIP Sir...in Camalot...
Rest in Peace
I had the pleasure of seeing him in CAMELOT and SOUTH PACIFIC. Magic

I remember listening to the Camelot cast recording when I was a little kid and loving it. Later, I had the pleasure of seeing him in La Cage. When I read the news about his sickness, I was really saddened. The theatre has lost another great icon. Rest in peace, Mr. Goulet.
I had the incredible privilege, as a very young boy, of seeing the very first performance of "Camelot" at the O'Keeffe Centre in Toronto (and I still have six copies of the red-covered program to remember it). Robert Goulet is the beginning of my interest, no make that love, of Broadway. His passing is a tragedy of epic proportions. He was so damn young. I don't remember much of that night, but I do remember the show was interminably long... and a man with an amazing voice, so clear and powerful sang twice, once in each act.
And that's all I need...
Je t'adore Robert. Je me souviens, mon ami.
Like far too many others, he passed away waiting for an organ donor. If you haven't already done so, I encourage everyone to become an organ donot.
My condolences to his family and many fans. Rest in peace.
A legend. Fantastic voice. and such a sweet man.
I feel so lucky to have seen him live on stage in LA CAGE. He was excellent. I will also treasure my Happy Time CD cover that he signed for me after the performance.
RIP, Robert Goulet. You will definitely be missed.
Rest in peace, Mr. Goulet. My condolences to his loved ones.
I was truly upset by this news. My thoughts are with his family.
RIP, Robert.
Here's his appearance on the Jack Parr show with another legend. I think the "bow" part is one of the funniest moments on talk show tv.

Robert Goulet was a wonderful talk show guest. I remember thinking that he must be one of the happiest men I've ever seen. I'll miss his laugh. He sings Jimmy Kimmel's theme song for his TV show.
RIP.
This makes me very sad. I listened to his music so much when I was younger... it's as if something from my childhood has been taken away.

This is so sad!
I saw Robert over 25 years ago in Vegas in a small club. I was sitting at my table and he came over to me and commented on my hair(it was pretty long and curly) and asked if was real - he loved it. Its funny - because I have always hated my hair because it is extremely curly. But he was so sweet to me - not to mention a wonderful singer. I could listen to him forever. I will miss him.
