If that's a review you wrote when dead tired in an airport in the middle of the night -- please treat us to one you wrote wide awake in the daytime. Very well written and presented.
And, yeah, I was hoping that there wouldn't be a gazillion send-ups of pop culture in the musical and that'd it be a little more sincere. The movie doesn't come off as sincere to me; it's just like "Hey, look at us, we're making fun of Disney!"
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
Also, the transformation of Princess Fiona from beauty into an ogre (whoops, uh, spoilers!) is pretty lame considering the obvious budget involved. It was another opportunity to get a “wow!” out of the audience, but it just didn’t work.
How is it done?
"I saw Pavarotti play Rodolfo on stage and with his girth I thought he was about to eat the whole table at the Cafe Momus." - Dollypop
I know the people who have seen this said that Fiona's transformation is not impressive that Sutton just walks off stage for a min or two and comes back on as Ogre Fiona but seeing as it takes Brian D'J 2 hours to get into costume I still don't get how they make up her face etc. I can see that she can just step into a fat suit and wig but her face???
Can some one explain please or PM me if you don't want to post spoilers. Thanks
