Audra McDonald-led GYPSY for 2024-2025 Season! Sep 17

If this production does well and outlasts Audra's contract, Da'vine would be a fabulous replacement for a limited run between her Hollywood gigs.

Soem Sallys that I think would be great in this production: Margaret Qualley, Keke Palmer, Greta Lee, Mia Goth, Carey Mulligan, Meghann Fahey, Vanessa Hudgens, Trace Lysette.
LOVE the suggestion of Rachel Brosnahan!

Show That Have Sat Down Mar 25
2024, 07:40:25 PM
Los Angeles had THE LION KING, THE PRODUCERS (with Jason Alexander and Martin Short), HAMILTON, and WICKED at the Pantages, as well! The Shubert had LES MISERABLES, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, CATS, RAGTIME, and the US premiere of SUNSET BOULEVARD, before it closed in 2002.
Interesting to see the musicals outside of Disney, Drabinsky, and Mackintosh that had sit-down productions!

Las Vegas has seen many! MAMMA MIA, JERSEY BOYS, LION KING, PHANTOM, AVENUE Q, SPAMALOT HAIRSPRAY, THE PRODUCERS, CHICAGO come to mind pretty quickly! After the success of MAMMA MIA, there was a big burst of shows, most of them cut down to 90 minutes.

I think instead of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST or NEWSIES, it's gonna be a Disney revue. I doubt they would do two Disney musicals in one season.

TAMMY FAYE will transfer to Broadway in 2024-2025 Season Mar 23

Broadway Flash said: "next season will also have Audra, Idina, Kristin, Sutton, Caissie Levy, Ariana Debose, Robyn Hurder, Jasmine Amy Rogers, hopefully Alyse Alan Louis and many many more"
Even 1/3 of that would be exciting, but there's also the big heavy hitters of Nicole Scherzinger, Megan Hilty, and Jennifer Simard too! Overall looking forward to this, a Tammy Faye musical has a lot of potential.

Standing at the Sky's Edge coming to Broadway? Feb 29

A limited run, or a run with a non-profit, could be an option. How would this fare staging-wise at the Beaumont?

Ah, yes! My mistake.
I also could see CTG snagging the KITE RUNNER tour, it's rare to have multiple plays on tour! KITE RUNNER, LIFE OF PI, & JULIET, and PARADE is a good possible start to a season!

My thoughts as well. Maybe a launch of the Sweeney Todd tour, if it happens. They could also get the MAMMA MIA anniversary tour, that's played the Ahmanson a few times in the past! CTG also loves to produce new shows and bring in exclusives from other theaters, so I'm expecting a few unique additions.

Well, it's a limited run anyway. I don't think they announced when it's closing but it's definitely a limited run, as of right now.

Nicole Scherzinger to star in West End Sunset Boulevard at the Savoy Sep 20
2023, 01:34:41 PM
I wonder if it does well enough that it could do a New York run at a non-Broadway space (BAM, Park Avenue Armory, The Shed, etc.), there isn't need for a New York revival but if there's enough love for it then maybe they can plan a limited run somewhere in the city.

Who could replace Josh Groban? Sep 18
2023, 10:35:44 PM
Raul Esparza and Hannah Waddingham. He'd get theatre people excited to come back, and a West End star-turned Emmy winning sitcom star would draw in box office AND be a fabulous casting choice. I think they can get by with a "Broadway famous" Sweeney if they bring in a Lovett that is a more commercial name.

Yeah, I've said before that she's done the role for such a long time, but I think after almost 25 years, it might be time to hang it up. The only problem with that is that there seems to be a limited pool of reliable leads to take over roles during the non-celebrity times.

Hilty & Simard to lead DEATH BECOMES HER in Chicago spring 2024 Sep 7
2023, 12:41:03 PM
Hilty and Simard are going to be HILARIOUS, no matter what the writing is like. (Am I the only one who thought they would be playing the opposite roles? Jen seems more like a Madeline, and Hilty has more of that Goldie Hawn effervescence to me.)
It's smart to hold off on announcing Scherzinger, her Broadway debut has been rumored for years and this would be a great role for a splashy start and potential Best Supporting Actress buzz.
