I think Anna Kendrick has the potential to be one of the great Broadway Divas of our generation based on her performance in CAMP alone. She was Tony nominated by the age of 12 and Oscar nominated by the age of 24.
Any ideas for roles she could play on the great white way?
Funny Girl?
I doubt she'd want to be a 4th replacement in Waitress, but she'd be a great Jenna!
And she'd make a great Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls
I squealed to myself when I saw this thread. As my profile pic might indicate I don't know what she would play though...I might prefer she originate something?
I know this is specifically about the stage but I've wanted her to be Nessarose in the Wicked movie for several years (but not on Broadway because the part is smallish). I'd love to hear her sing Velma Kelly's songs. Or Mrs. Lovett's.
But I for one cannot wait for her to return to Broadway, but I feel like it will be a few more years at least, with the way her film career is booming.
Anna Kendrick's role on Broadway, you ask? She can escort me to my seat, hand me my Playbill and Shvt The Fvck Up!
Um King George III in Hamilton

You seem sweet. lol
Not that Promises Promises will,be revived anytime soon, but she'd be wonderful as Fran.
Anna would be the perfect Nessarose in the Wicked film.
I thought she would have been a stellar miss. Honey

This is so funny, but it still doesn't change the fact that you're being a b!tchy troll.
Also, Anna Kendrick, frankly, has a remarkably generic quality about her. I honestly cannot think of a single role that she would be good in that someone else wouldn't be a better choice for. I'm just not much of a fan.
Prefer not to see her in anything.

Agreed. Maybe it's because she often plays bitchy roles, maybe it's because she got an Oscar nomination for a mediocre performance, maybe it's because she doesn't move her mouth when she talks, but I've never liked her.

I love Anna but this made me LOL
I actually think her "Ladies who lunch" is better than Miss Lupone's or Ms. Stritch's.
Anna won't be coming to Back Broadway for a number of years unless something is written specifically for her....
She has said in numerous interviews when asked about Broadway, that she doesn't think her voice can handle an 8x a week schedule.
Add to that her snarky persona, which 30 years ago would of been called a Dame, isn't catered to in most ingenue roles. In all honestly the only role that she fits that she is still maybe 5-10 years to young for is Reno Sweeney.

Oh Lord - the sensitive snowflakes reign supreme on BWW. Some of you truly need to develop a sense of humor. It was a friggin' joke - a bitchy joke but a joke nonetheless.
Glad some of you got it and appreciated it.
For the record I love Anna Kendrick. She is extremely talented and her performance in UP IN THE AIR is one of my all time favorites.

I saw The Last Five Years. She should stick to movies. But, only movies that don't allow her to sing. Ever.
