Posted: 1/24/07 at 1:35pmDo you think Rosie would ever host the TONYS again? Maybe now she is back on TV with The View they would consider her. I was thinking about her opening numbers. I always enjoyed them.

Posted: 1/24/07 at 1:54pmWasn't Trump planning a musical? Now THAT could be an interesting way to get people to tune in!

Posted: 1/24/07 at 1:58pmEllen should host the Tonys too. She should host everything, in fact.

Have they done a "Celebrity Deathmatch" with Donald and Rosie? That would be fun.

Posted: 1/24/07 at 2:03pmYes, Ellen Degeneres is hosting and if the job she did on the emmy's is any indication it should make the Oscar telecast a lot of fun. She is also being interviewed by Barbara Walters on her special before the telecast.

At this point, ANY host is better than NO host. Last year's telecast was BORING!
Ellen was a great host the year the Emmys came after the 9/11 attacks. She later hosted again and didn't do as good of a film by a longshot.
It'll be interesting to see what she does at the Oscars.
As for the Tonys, I don't think Ellen would be a fit. First of all: I don't think she is too much of a theatre person. Secondly, she and her show is based in LA. Thirdly, at the Emmys and Oscars, she has more freedom to be a performer. At the Tonys, the host really only has an opporunity to shine in opening the show. There's no time for bits in between, such as Ellen coming out wearing the Swan Dress as she did at the Emmys.
I would love for Rosie to host. At least we'll be guaranteed a musical number. If not Rosie, I can see Martin Short doing it, even though I don't think he'd be as good as Rosie or Hugh Jackman.

I suppose some might have trouble telling Sally Struthers from Debra Monk.

Posted: 1/24/07 at 2:54pmI jsut hope they realize that the no host thing last year was a big mistake. I'm be very happy if Rosie was choosen to host although if Martin Short were to host sometime soon, I'm sure that this would be a good year for him.

And that would be the number one reason to find anybody else. I love Rosie, but please, her musical numbers are just painful.

A big no to Megan.
