Why are you people being so mean? I will tell you what, these girls are the next generation of theatre-goers and I wish that I had the guts and glory to dress up to the Wedding Singer. Instead, I just take the coward route by telling everyone I know to go see it!

I think you people need to re-evaluate your stuffy theatre ways because this is great! And although I know that I do not know their (the cast) personalities, I would like to think that they appreciate the dedicated fans who kept this show afloat as long as it did whether they dress up like me or not. People like me who saw this show 5 times...and girls like this who are self promoting the show. I think this is great, and I will say it again: ROCK ON!!

And one more thing: just because these girls may dress up does not mean they are stealing the thunder from the cast. These girls are probably fueling the cast, because guess what? If the cast didn't like it, they wouldn;t be throwing the props their way. Maybe I should dress up??? LOL!

I'm reminded of a story.
I did a show last year. My costar's girlfriend was in a VERY big Broadway show at the time.
As we were all having dinner, I referenced, obliquely, the actions of someone with whom I am acquainted in regards to this show. Not by name, only by action.
She knew exactly whom I was referencing. The entire cast knew. They were not amused. In fact, they were downright scared.
What's really funny is it didn't involve dressing up and going to shows. It involved acting as if these people were your close, personal friends, seeking to impress them with knowledge of their personal lives and histories, and being far more frightening than wearing a wedding dress to a show.

Holly, I honestly don't know the circumstances of your dressing up and going. What you do is your own business. If I were there and you were bothering me, trust me, I'd say something. If you weren't, though, my life would go on.

Still, it raises an interesting point. I'm not speaking to the quality of the show but it certainly wouldn't hurt the producers' pockets to capitalize on this idea and market TWS as a sort of Rocky Horror dress-up extravaganza. It's not like putting a few more tushes in seats would hurt them or hurt their chances of marketing this show that way to the amateur world.

My point was that there are things far more disturbing to your average chorus boy than a girl showing up in costume.

if they marketed it as such, fun, and fine. but under the circumstances.....

Holly, you're clearly going about your fandom the wrong way. As per your naysayers, what you should now do is google all of the performers in the show. Memorize everything about their personal lives - where they went to high school, to college, what color they paint their toenails on every second Saturday - and be sure to let them know all of this information as if it will somehow endear you to them.

bway is right - the "familiar" behavior by fans is what really creeps out actors. They are nice to those fans because what choice do they have in that circumstance? It's a big dilemma.

who ever said Holly would throw the props out? What??? This girl sounds like she would save them - and Im sure if you asked her, she has them saved. Might as well give them to a real fan, instead of some stuck up theatre goer. Remember - it's fans like her that kept this show going.
