SHUCKED will close January 14, 2024; TOMMY rumored for the Nederlander — Page 3

Let’s hear those closing night reports, peeps!
I saw pictures of the video marquee going out with a bang and in a very Shucked fashion, with messages like “FINAL PERFORMANCE JUST HAPPENED” and “YOU SHUCKING MISSED IT.”

Someone posted on Reddit that a curtain announcement was made that SHUCKED will be receiving a feature film adaptation.
I am SO ON BOARD with this!!

I hope they use as much of the OBC as possible. And also get Reba.

I wouldn't expect many members of the original cast involved, but this is potentially great news IF it actually comes together. Many a movie-musical has been announced and never produced.
I'll have more belief in it once we know a director and a studio partner.

I hope this is true! Are any of the OBC actors famous enough to be in the movie version? Sadly I can see this going to Dove Cameron (who is very talented) or someone else from Schmigadoon.

Just heard it. Kinda glad I was at the second preview. Alex hit every note as clear as a bell and didn't lower any as he does in this final performance. There wasn't as much "growling" so to speak. It was good, but prefer the performance I saw more. JMO

Any idea when we'll get a full cast announcement?

For the film? It doesn't even have a director announced yet! And no studio either (unless Peter Guber is planning finance it as an independent production). First things first.

I’m wandering if they will try a run off broadway. Maybe at stage 42 or new world stages.
