And unless there is OFFICIAL word to the contrary, the box office is probably required to give that info.
We shall see.
And as of Wednesday, there's still signs all over the Hilton theater saying previews start Feb. 25. Considering there's been no rehearsals what-so-ever lately, plus no adversting at all, I highly doubt there will be anything playing in that theater in 7-8 weeks(or 7-8 months even).
Me thinks Mr Cuomo should get involved.

"Is it possible they could be having secret rehearsals somewhere and this is all an elaborate prank or something?"
Yes, secret rehearsals are going on in my garage. Don't tell anyone.
I just called too and the box office said the show WILL happen come Feb....I don't see that happening ahaha
Well I doubt it. But If the show starts previews Febuary 25th I think this will be one huge shock to the entire theater community.
This will happen when a Wildhorn show wins a Tony.
Better still, when the CD of Lestat is released.
Roxy, you mentioned a Lestat CD, you know that bryan is going to appear now looking for a Crybaby CD. bryan is like Beetlejuice, except bryan appears when someone mentions a flop musical recording.
It is time for another Bryan thread.

For the last time... No. It's not happening on Feb 25 - it is, simply put, impossible. There's nothing else to it.
And they're still selling tickets... this cannot be legal (esp if there are no contracted actors)!
ooops. Sorry....I am click disabled.

I'm not saying this proves anything, but Playbill is reporting that Alan Cumming just joined the cast of the movie Burlesque, which is now shooting/

I think it's too early to assume if it's closing or not. They could be working on some serious revisions and are just on lock-down right now. But if it doesn't happen, can't say I didn't warn ya...

Tonight at the Times Talks, Alan Cumming made a comment about how they should take the sign down from Shubert Alley, and that hopefully no one tries to go to the theatre come February, because there won't be anything there for anyone to see. He didn't say that the show wasn't happening, but said that they were just sort of waiting. He didn't say what for, but he said that it was very frustrating. He talked about the show as if there was a strong possibility that it wouldn't be happening.
"He didn't say that the show wasn't happening"
He basically did, though. LOL
Thanks for the report Toast!
I rhink it is all a huge practical joke played by Taymor.
She has not gotten anything in a while so she started this whole thing about her directing a Spiderman musical when there never was one. In reality, a musical version Of The Flash by Wildhorm will be opening & closing quickly & be directed by Des.
Well, we all have a tendancy to exaggerate when we are frustrated. If, indeed, they've been "let go" from their contracts -- I would imagine he'd be a bit miffed at the whole situation and might not have too many positive things to say.
At this point: we just want to know.

He didn't seem annoyed or bitter. He sounded like he really still wanted to be a part of the show. He seemed really excited about it, and talked about how cool it was to get a demo of his songs with Bono singing his parts.

I hope we at least get a CD of the songs out of this.
"we just want to know."
A first-hand confirmation (basically) from Alan Cummings isn't enough???
I believe every aspect of this show is in a holding pattern, except maybe sporadic work on the theatre itself, from what I know from the people who were working on it. Even if the show does officially fold the Producers are going to have to leave the theatre in some sort of working order. It wouldn't surprise me if even Alan himself wasn't quite sure of what is going on. The Producers are going to paint a rosy picture for him too to keep him holding on.I don't think he would badmouth the Producers if he did think the show wasn't happening. It is not professional and you don't want to burn bridges with people you might want to work with in the future (on other projects). It's show biz and people who have worked in it for years know crap like this happens from time to time.

This whole ordeal is absolutely maddening!
