I agree with what Wilmingtom said...like a friend of mine who is currently playing Herbie believes that Barbra could have been a great Rose in her heyday. But I just can't see it. She just isn't the right "type," at least for me...
That said, I thought John Travolta was charming in Hairspray, but PLEASE keep him far away from Herbie.

OMG that was my first exposure to GYPSY as well! WABC-TV's 4:30 Movie was also my first exposure to VALLEY OF THE DOLLS! They also showed it in 2 parts!
