see some people would totally go off on this post saying that the name doesn't matter only talent bla bla.

but I think Broadway peeps know that USUALLY (depending on talent) your name is a huge part of your career . I mean , yes , sometimes a Quvenzhane Wallis can get success with a difficult name but some names just don't sound or look right to be on a marquee and yes, Samantha Barks is one of those.

Actually, Oprah's real name is Orpah. I wish I was kidding.

Stephanie J. Block is a horrendous name, I think. Worse than Samantha Barks.

And to the person who brought up Bernadette Peters, that's actually a stage name. Her legal name, even now, is Bernadette Lazzara.
