No need for that kind of language, ShuQ. C'mon.
that language is certainly warranted. What a completely idiotic thing for Magic8Ball to say. I would pay to see you fighting a virus and perform on a Broadway stage. Tell me when and where.
Yeah, gosh, it must suck to be her right now. I'm pretty sure she's not pulling any kind of stund or anything. It would be very silly of her.

You really think an insult as ineffectual as that one is cause for name-calling? I thought I was cranky.
I'm with you, ShuQ, although I probably wouldn't have phrased it quite the same way.
There are people here who seem to think they know an awful lot about what is truly going on in the lives of the performers. It's hard to believe Sara would be absent at a time like this unless it were completely unavoidable. Under the circumstances, she deserves the benefit of the doubt.
No you're not. Now be off with you.

Pop - Bronx being one of the Tony voters would actually clear up a few questions I've had in the past regarding their honorees.
I've been holding back for a while about Christina, reading others reactions and trying to form a proper opinion. Basically, I can not believe people are 'won over' by her. This girl didn't impress me for a second and her voice was terrible. I overheard poeple talking yesterday at "stars in the alley" about how she's not as bad as everyone thinks she is.....PEOPLE this is broadway, not a highschool theater production. You are on that stage because you are the best of the best and not just 'okay'. It furthermore disgusts me that poeple are actually praising and rooting for her. I have to admit, I was at first rooting for her, even after seeing the rehersal footage. I only stopped after seeing the actual show opening night. And what she pulled yesterday (written on a card or not) was weak. "i haven't warmed up". She can't warm up enough for this role. Sorry if this post seems harsh but it grates me....
not pulled in the literal sense but her excuse for not singing, whether or not it was in the script, made her look bad.
I must have missed something. What did she do?

Oooh..did I come in just in time to talk about Christina's fabulousness? Goodie!
"that language is certainly warranted. What a completely idiotic thing for Magic8Ball to say."
My comment wasn't meant to berate Ramirez for being out of the show. I'm a performer. I know how it goes. Please. I was just drawing a parallel between Chenoweth's absences from "Wicked" last season that undoubtedly affected her chances at recieving the Tony.
Yes, I AM one of the Tony voters and am responsible for THE LION KING winning best musical.
Sorry, did you say something Bronx? My computer has a bulls**t filter along with its spam filter and your post is empty.....
Ugh, whatever. If Bronx says that (s)he is a voter, then fine. No need to strike up even more arguments in this thread.

I don't know why we're talking about Applegate in this thread, but since it was mentioned I gotta comment.
Gypsy, I didn't find Christina's comment annoying or inappropriate. At Stars in the Alley, she and Denis introduced the number from Sweet Charity. During their banter, Denis suggested that they sing something, and she said she wasn't warmed up. First of all, she didn't write the script. Second of all, why does that make her look bad? She wasn't supposed to perform in the first place. Anyway, I loved her in Sweet Charity and believes she deserves any acclaim that comes her way.
No, MrMusic, it's NOT fine, thank you very much. Bronx is a tool and if people seriously believe that (s)he votes for the Tonys, then that's bad and wrong.

Pop - If anyone believes that the freak of nature that goes by Bronx is telling the truth, then their stupidity is too much to overcome anyway.
Then just leave it alone. If you think someone's off, fine. If bronx is truly what you think (s)he is, I don't think (s)he's going to come out and say it if you pressure him/her. So, it's useless although noble.

I love all this "talk" about Jan being a front-runner for the Tony.
If Sara doesn't receive it (which I don't think she does but it's the "right" thing to do), Kelli is the only other legit contender. This lady carries the two hour plus show on her shoulders and really acts instead of doing slap stick stuff.
The race is between Sara and Kelli. No one else comes close.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "If Sara doesn't receive it (which I don't think she does but it's the "right" thing to do)..."
Are you saying you think she deserves it but won't win, or she'll win but doesn't deserve it? I'm confused.
And whether or not you think Maxwell deserves it or not doesn't discount the fact that she is a serious contender. She won the Drama Desk Award and I wouldn't count her out of the race. I still think Ramirez will win, but she's got some tough competition from the other ladies, particularly Maxwell and O'Hara.
