Has anyone on here seen it? What are your thoughts?

Does anyone think there's any hope for a Broadway transfer?

It's great!  Go see it when it comes back to the Lortel this fall!

It’s a good show but it’s not a broadway show. As cool as it would be to have a show like this on broadway I don’t think broadway audiences would pay for it.

Loved it at the Lortel and would definitely recommend seeing it when it returns, but no, this shouldn't play Broadway.

Excellent play. Saw it at the Lortel and plan to see it again when it returns.

No, after Lortel I want the rights to be released immediately so talented black actresses in local communities/colleges/high schools have the chance to work on this fantastic play.

Seeing this at the Kirk Douglas theater in L.A. during its September run there. Looking forward to it.

this is one of the best shows i saw last year, and fyi a transfer is in the cards for the spring "it wont find an audience on broadway" thats why its coming back for an encore run and most of the cast is going with it to LA, some of you folks drive me crazy sometime

I enjoyed this show a lot, and I wish them nothing but the best! But yeah, I don't see this going to Broadway either. Not only do I worry about its commercial prospects (although admittedly the running cost would be very low) - I just don't think it needs to. Not every good play needs to run on Broadway; that isn't the ultimate measure of success. Two runs at MCC, a run in LA, a special Drama Desk for the cast, and likely a healthy licensing future, are not things to scoff at. In fact, I would argue that those achievements are more significant than a short run on Broadway and a couple of Tony nominations

If I'm wrong, and it does go to Broadway, I'll be very happy for them. Like I said, I wish them nothing but the best!

OMG, this was SOOOOO good. Roaringly funny and deeply engrossing with a powerful message at the end. The cast fits like a glove and the play itself runs a brisk and breezy 75 minutes. If someone was between seeing this and Mean Girls on Broadway, I'd go with this one in a heartbeat.

See this before it closes at the end of the month!

The ending sent my mind and thoughts reeling.

Unfortunately, I think this is showing only in the NYC area on their Theatre Close Up show. Sucks for us in the rest of the country!

I don't know where else it's going, but it's playing at the Berkeley Rep starting in March (2020).

there was a plan to transfer it last season and it feel apart, probably no chance of it happening atleast not with the original cast (one girl is gonna be on some NBC show I think)

Update on the PBS airing:

I was able to watch the full play on my bus commute to work this morning, through the PBS Thirteen website. LINK HERE

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

Thank you for posting this! I have been out of the PBS loop for a while. I just sat and watched it. Just as good the second time around. It was beautifully filmed also.

We aren't able to watch this in California, too bad.  Maybe it will air here one of these days.

When I was sharing it with a family member via text, it asked for my location. I denied turning location on and it said it was only available here in the PBS local area. I watched it on my Chromebook and I guess my location is turned on.

I had planned to see this play live at the Berkeley Rep but Covid-19 got in the way of that. I was able to see a tech rehearsal that was filmed just before things were shut down in the SF Bay Area. It wasn't the ideal circumstances for the actors or the poor camera operator, but I was pleased both to support the theater and to see the play, which veers impressively from silly to serious in a tidy 80-minute running time. We learn a lot about these characters, and certainly Paulina and new rival Ericka, during that time. I was impressed with Jocelyn Bioh's ability to borrow familiar tropes and put them in a new context that is both entertaining, enlightening (pardon the pun), and heartbreaking. The actress playing Paulina, Akilah Walker, is particularly good as the play moves to its conclusion.
