is this the first time a major musical has every done this?
They either are very happy with it, or slightly stupid, cause guessing the word of mouth could kill it if it's bad.
Did anyone grab tickets?

Word already is they are nervous abut the project, and they are hoping to get more then just the normal industry read on where the show stands before they move forward with it.

"I'm going. "
JC, yours is an honest opinion that I'm looking forward to reading.[that seems a very convoluted sentence.]

Just putting this out there, but if anyone has an extra ticket for the Wednesday June 3rd performance, I'd love to buy it off of you. Or if you don't mind going another night, I can buy a ticket for that day, and trade for the Wednesday! I wanna check this out, and that's the only day I'm able to go. Please PM me and let me know!

was so aggravated that by the time I clicked the link for tickets - they were all gone! Damn... first time ALW does a version of his Sydmonton workshop here in NY (and open to to the public) and I miss it...
I love how some are already speculating that this as a desperation move...I think this makes a heck of a lot of sense for ALW to let theatregoers react to it and get a feel for it. His last effort (Stephen Ward) he seems to get euphoric praise from the workshops and then sees things not take off the way he expected it

I think tickets were only available for purchase Wed-Sat. Tonight and Last Night were invite only/investor type workshops.

Pleasantly surprised by the performance tonight!
The production is full of amazingly talented kids and they are the star of the show.
Alex Brightman is no leading man. Performance was lackluster at best.
Sara Chase was the adult stand out performance for me.

Was there a program? Could you post a cast list if you get the chance? I know it likely isn't 100% the cast we will see in the fall but very curious about who is in this beyond Brightman.

The buzz is already crazy for this show!! I saw Something Rotten last night and ironically the senior editor of broadwayworld came up to me and my friend and told us how much he loved something rotten. He was coming from School of Rock and said its his favorite show right now, and one of the best things he's ever seen!
