My husband is legally blind and needs to sit in the first few rows or it might as well be an audio recording. In the past we've always bought front row seats way ahead of time and there's been no issue. It used to be that front row seats were "regular" price which we're more than willing to pay. This has changed in the last few years and many shows now price the front row at "premium."
We're booking a trip to New York in the future and traditionally Ticketmaster and Telecharge have been really wonderful about holding "low-vision" seats for the visually imparied. These seats are usually normally priced and within the first few rows, often just on the aisle on the left or right side.
Well. SeatGeek does not offer these. At least not at Sunset and not at Cabaret. I'm being told there's no "regular priced" low-vision seats. Odd we are accommodated elsewhere but no help for the blind at SeatGeek.
These aren't discounted seats, they're still 200-250$. We just can't afford 500$ and there's no point to see the show if we're further back. We won't go. It happens. Not the end of the world. I already hated SeatGeek to begin with.
I think you need to fault the production, not the ticket seller. SeatGeek doesn't set the prices.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Yes! Of course that's true. I've just only ever had trouble with SeatGeek shows. It may actually be Ambassador Theatre Group. Since I think they're behind both Sunsent and Cabaret (and the show I tried to buy last year with similar issues).

ATG made me jump through so many hoops to get a refund for American Utopia when COVID hit that I was forced to initiate a dispute with Amex. I avoid them at all costs if possible. And I don’t feel left out that I cannot partake in their planned upcoming charcuterie at Sunset.
