Seating Advice for Pippin, Kinky Boots, and Matilda

Hello all!
I am purchasing tickets for my trip in August, and was wondering is anyone could offer some advice.
Pippin I was looking at the back of the Mezzanine. Does it matter if you are off to the side and far back?
Kinky Boots I am looking at row S of the Mezzanine. I sat at the back of the mezz for Hair and it was fine, but I don't know if it will be different Kinky Boots's set design.
Matilda I am looking at the Balcony. I'm a little worried about this one because I know there are some poles that can block the view.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Sat in front Mezz for both KINKY BOOTS and PIPPIN. Can't go wrong there, especially for PIPPIN. I feel like the Mezz in PIPPIN is a must!
Sat in the Orchestra right on the aisle for MATILDA and had great seats as well. I would suggest the Orchestra for MATILDA, especially if you want to see all the cast enter/exit around you and be under the incredibly cool proscenium of floating tiles.

Posted: 7/12/13 at 4:30pmFor Pippin, try to avoid the first 3 or 4 rows of the orchestra. We sat in second row and stage is pretty high, so we didn't get to see anything that happens close to the floor far upstage. But seeing the actors up close was worth it (despite the guy in front of me who kept complaining all the way through the show). Front row there is just way to close for anyone who hasn't seen the show already.

If you sit in the balcony for Matilda, you can avoid the poles if you sit: 1) in the center section; 2) in the sections to the FAR left or right.

Thank you! I actually went with the Mezzanine for Matilda. I bought the following...
Kinky Boots - Right Mezzanine Row S seats 2-4
Matilda - Right Mezzanine Row G seats 6
Pippin - Right Mezzanine Row H seats 8-10

Posted: 7/12/13 at 4:53pmDoes anyone know how the view would be from Balcony Row H, Seat 26 for Matilda? It is the seat on the far right aisle. Trying to decide if I want to spring for the more expensive seats in the front of the balcony.

Posted: 7/12/13 at 4:54pmI sat in the seat horizontally in front of there-it's not good. There is a pole blocking part of your view-and they don't tell you that. (I was not pleased when I learned that and the usher's only comment was that I should have known.)

I was in the back of the balcony for Matilda and I am sure it affected my lack of enjoyment of the show. It was just too far away. I would not recommend it. I think the mezz is a much better choice.
For Kinky Boots, your seats are perfect. I think this is a show you want to see from the mezz.. you have GREAT seats.
Can't help you with Pippin. I have tickets for September.
Let us know how the seats worked out. Enjoy!

The last three rows of the mezzanine are not good for Matilda - there is an obstructed view from the balcony and you have to lean over to see the stage. You will miss some of the "high" things on the stage such as the blackboard - and telecharge doesn't tell you those seats are obstructed.
And if you are in the first two rows of the mezzanine you need to be in at least 4 seats or your view is obstructed by the set pieces and you won't see the back of the stage (which affects When I Grow Up)

Posted: 7/12/13 at 10:26pmI think closer is better for Matilda and Kinky Boots. Mezz is the best place for Pippen. I sat in second row and loved being close but missed some of the action.

It is just the top of the stage - unless you lean over a bit - which everyone will be doing. The only "action" that was important is some use of the chalkboard. There is another special effect in the first act which is lost on people sitting on the mezzanine.
The seats are ok, and it is only a few moments where the view is obstructed.

I would eat the cost of the Matilda tickets and purchase new ones. One of the reasons Matilda's grosses are not as high as they should be is because audiences are avoiding the third level. Your Kinky Boots tix are against the back wall of the theatre; better than your Matilda seats but still not optimal. Your Pippin seats are the best of the lot because their theatre is tiny in comparison. The Music Box is very wide, I tell everyone to avoid the extreme sides, your tix are perfect. Hopefully you are seeing them in this order - Matilda, Kinky, and then Pippin. Your views will only get better. If you see Pippin first you will be disappointed in the locations of the others. But hey, you are seeing the three big hits, your lucky to have not been paying premium prices for them.
Here's a question, is Pippin not catching on? While its selling out each week - when you look ahead you can always get better seats for Pippin than the other two big hits Kinky Boots and Matilda. Considering Pippin has many less seats to sell its doubly perplexing. For sure it did not catch fire like the Chicago revival of the Weisler's. I'm guessing Kinky Boots and Matilda are overshadowing and audiences like new.

Posted: 7/13/13 at 4:14pmI called Telecharge and got my seat moved up a row closer on the Mezzanine. I now have row F seat 6. It is at a higher price. Row F is about halfway up. They didn't have anything decent on the Orchestra except for WAY off to the side. I'm just hoping for the best. Pippin is the last show I'm seeing, so I'm saving the best show with the best seats for last!

Posted: 9/10/13 at 7:37pmSo for some reason, my first post isn't showing up?? Shrug. Anyways, I'm seeing Matilda for a second time (I saw it SRO the first) and I'm not sure what seats to get. I have the option of getting front row but is this worth it? Money's not an issue for me but I'm wondering if it's better a few rows back. Help?
