If you are an overseas customer, the Telecharge site has occasional systems glitches when you try to proceed with the payment procedure. Upon advice from CustomerService - IT group from a previous time, I was asked to proceed as GUEST ( which can take time to complete as you have to key in some data supposedly already stored in your account - so you need to do this fast so you don't run into the 10 minute- Max time limit). But that seems to be the only way you can get through, as happened to me when I took advantage of this newly priced front row seats.  Good luck!

Row A in the side orchestra is actually the second row, after BB.

Thanks so much for the heads-up, TaffyD! I had originally purchased side-ish mezzanine seats for May, and after seeing your post, I called Telecharge this morning - a super-helpful agent happily exchanged my seats... no hassle whatsoever (and interestingly the orch row A seats were $10 less than the original mezzanine seats). Even the agent was surprised the orch row A seats weren't being sold as premium.

Thanks again!

On certain days, there is no Row BB - both Center and Left/Right Orchestra.  That was the case for the date in June where I picked up Row AA - Right Orchestra.

Maybe they are trying to eliminate Row BB ( for whatever reason) and are trying to encourage early buyers of Row BB to relocate to other seats?  However, some occupied Row BB still remain.

I remember in the past when full rows in front were eliminated close to start of previews of one show and ticketholders were requested to find other seats or change to other dates. The reason given was technical issues for the proposed staging... I think in this case, they are not summarily eliminating Row BB but maybe encouraging ticketholders to move to other premium seats? Maybe there is a staging reason that may have developed now that the show is going to start rehearsals soon.

I'm sure the lack of row BB on the seating chart on certain days doesn't mean that it's going to be eliminated. BB 1-3 are currently on sale for 2/12 at 8 p.m. (for $699), so I'd chalk it up to a Telecharge thing, probably because they were holding back the first 2 rows due to COVID. Eventually, they should release them for every performance.

I guess we can continue to speculate.

Is it Telecharge which makes the decision on what to sell and how to price it? Isn't there some indicative policy from the producer(s) themselves? I thought Telecharge is simply the selling agent?

Whatever it is - the fact that they have offered supposed-premium seats at non-premium prices could be indicative of a slight change in the promotional/marketing thrust for the show. So, thanks for the early tip.

I can't get over the pricing weirdness. $699 to sit in BB or B, but only $269 to sit in row A in between them? I'm just curious how long before row A gets upped to premium.

What's funny about this is ever since they announced the new opening dates, I've been checking the exchange options weekly (Had October post-opening tickets that are now January preview tickets, hoped to maybe shift to March or April but couldn't find a comparable seat in my price range). On Wednesday last week I finally resigned myself to my January date and started planning out my trip, bought a ticket to another show. Then on Thursday I went on Telecharge to see what was still left on my Music Man date and that's when I saw the Row A tickets. Now I'd have my pick of March and April dates but I'm locked into January now.

I saw A is available for the date I have tickets to. I'm currently in Left Orch row J, seats 13 and 15. Wondering if it's worth it to switch? Obviously being that close would be a treat but, I am curious about what the stage height will be for this production.

I have tickets to see the show in April in the side Mezzanine.  I like to be closer.  I was also able to switch to row A seats 1&3.  It saved me $20.  I've read these seats are "too close".  I'm hoping I made the right decision to switch.  I confirmed two seats in the row behind me and 4 seats farther left (B 9&11) are $330 more ... each.

Thanks for all your information about these first couple of rows. I found it interesting that what I assume are the Row BB seats (very front row orchestra) are sometimes there, sometimes not, sometimes in different configurations. I've seen configurations that included two seats left orchestra, 4 + 2 seats center orchestra, and two seats in each of left and right orchestra. For July 13 I saw several of these unavailable BB seats for the matinee (4 center + 1 left), but none for the show that night. The one thing these all have in common is that I have NEVER seen any of these seats available for sale, nor have I seen any of the BB seats on any seating charts, yet those grayed-out seats are definitely there in different locations but only for some of the performances. And it sure does seem that if A101 can command $550, then A1 just across the aisle would also be at a premium price, not $269.

Thanks for the heads up! I just moved my seats from row T in the orchestra (admittedly, center) to A2/A4 on the right.  I figure on the aisle can't be that bad...we'll see :)

I feel this is a show where farther back is going to be the best place to be. I’d really want to see the full scope of the production and the musical numbers from farther back. being close to Hugh and Sutton is nice but it’s rather see the full design of the show.

I think those wanting to be close are in for a world of hurt. I remember being excited for front row at Shuffle Along. That was a bad decision.

Is Sutton Foster in every show or is she playing only a certain # of performances per week? I can't miss her!

This reminds me of the time when Hugh was doing The Boy From Oz.  No one picked up  front row seats during the brisk pre-sale. After the show opened, everyone wanted to be on the front row!

But one time, Hugh noticed a female audience member on second row using binoculars to see the show even better( Hugh, actually). He asked her " You want to see my xrays?"...he then borrowed the binocs and looked at her directly through them - she was beaming laugh

I wonder if Hugh will be allowed to break the fourth wall this time?

I think "world of hurt" is a bit much. It's going to be down to personal preference. I always sit in the first 8 rows or so when I see a show because I get more out of it if I see faces clearly (and I have vision problems).  Almost every time I've chosen to sit further back to get the full scope I've walked out wishing I'd been closer. I've never walked out of a theatre wishing I'd been further back, even when I've sat in partial view seats. The only exception to that has been Hadestown, which I've seen and loved from the mezz twice (but I could see faces just fine from my seats). The Music Box Theatre's stage is much higher than the Winter Garden so I could see front row being a disappointment for Shuffle Along, but I don't think stage height will be an issue for Music Man.

I have the same problem ( poor vision) but also because I am on the petite side ( height-wise),  I always to try to get seats very close to the stage. I get a stiff neck having to keep my head on permanent mode looking between tall people in front me.  Only exception was seeing The Producers from way back but I was lucky to get an aisle seat.  Sometimes I am lucky to get an aisle seat close to the front ( Hamlet/JudeLaw) but in some cases I choose to be a bit further back ( Moulin Rouge- row G) because I wasn't keen to sit in those enclosed seats in front. Generally-speaking, I am more keen to see individual performances than the entire spectacle even for musicals ... and even more so for straight plays.

My world of hurt is truly referencing the recent staging of many new musicals and plays. I didn’t mean to offend. I’ve been seeing shows for 35 years and I’d easily say until 10 years ago front row and closer seats never seemed to be as difficult to sit in as they are now. Nowadays I always cringe a little when I see people get excited over front row. It’s a total crap shoot. My experience has been really bad with closer seats in recent years. I also love to see the acting close (moreso for plays) but I’ve run into too many problems with close seats lately.

Back in the day sets werent as complicated and stages werent as high due to the build out of the piece. This is a newer phenomenon of having an orchestra seat that ends up being total crap.

I think Peter Allen lends itself to breaking the fourth wall. If people are breaking the fourth wall during Music Man I’d be irritated.

I think the main reason that people on here are excited about these seats is because they're $430 less than the seats directly in front of, behind, and across the aisle from them. For people who enjoy being close, they're bound to be a great view, and who doesn't love a "bargain?"

The stage is massive, pretty sure the sets will be massive and grand so sitting so close is probably a terrible idea. I know that the mezzanine is far away from the stage in this theater, but having a full view of it from up there is probably the best bet. I randomly got front row center mezz on a random day in Jan for $269. Those don't seem to be available anymore. These prices. DAG.

Maybe we will be in for a treat insofar as the sets are concerned. In the Variety interview with Jerry Zaks he said that he has spent a lot of time during the lull caused by the pandemic discussing Loquasto's set designs. Zaks said that he wanted to show a very picturesque design of River City

Me -- all I want is to see is an old-fashioned gazebo in that period-setting - but that is just whimsy on my part wink

Just wanted to boost this thread up a bit to see if anyone has seen "The Music Man" from those late-released Row A seats (Orch left and right). Curious as to how they were.  Thanks!

I am also curious to hear about how the side sections throughout the orchestra are. My group's tickets are for Row H, Seats 16,18,20 and 22. Would love to know if they are indeed full view :)
