Hi everyone Ive never seen a show at Winter Garden and am purchasing tickets for Music Man. Im looking at either Rows R and up or there are some seats available front mezz right. These are in my price range. Im usually up front in orch so wondering which of these would be best? Thanks kindly.
Sometimes when I look at tickets I type in view from my seat followed by the theatre and it will show a bunch of different seating views and perspectives

YES - A View from My Seat is my preferred website for seating POVs. Much better than Ticketmaster and StubHub, which only have empty-theatre views without a show’s opening set design.

In the Winter Garden, you either sit in the centre or you'll just get a glimpse of the show.
Listen, I don't take my clothes off for anyone, even if it is "artistic". - JANICE
Keep it center. It’s like an oval shaped theater so the sides are like extreme views. Granted not sure how this show will be design wise but I’d imagine you’d want to be center. I sat on the sides or boxes for school or Rock and saw like 55% of the show.
If you can't afford seats in the center, don't worry. It's preferred, but, if you do some research, you'll do fine with whatever fits within your budget. Also, for what it's worth, none of the seats currently on sale are designated as partial view.
The sides of both mezz and orchestra are all partial view basically, you'll see maybe 75% of the show. Stick to the center of the theater, if you can swing it
FYI, they've released side orchestra A 1-7 and A 2-8 for random dates starting in January, oddly priced at $269 each. Get 'em while you can!
After a quick scan, it looks like they're only available for those several dates in January, then not again until June 5th, when they open up for every day through July31st.
Also, look at seats near the premium or otherwise more expense seats. I saw School of Rock on the aisle seat (towards the center) of the Orchestra right section and it was a lot cheaper than the one across the aisle in the center section. Saw everything fine. However, the sides are wider than in most theaters so far sides could be a problem- the theater is wider than it is deep.

I noticed this earlier this week and rushed to use the "exchange" link on my order page that has been there forever only to realize it was gone! Luckily when I called Telecharge they let me buy a new ticket and refunded my old one. Moved from F13 to A1 for no additional cost! I don't think the Winter Garden stage is particularly high so I'm pretty shocked those weren't listed as premium when the seats right behind them are.
(Side note: do phone orders not show up on your account? I got my emailed receipt while I was still on the phone with them but my account doesn't list it, and I'm assuming it's because I bought over the phone. Anyone know if they'd be able to add it on their end? I'll probably call next week but maybe someone here knows the answer)
For everyone earlier in the thread who were saying ALL of side orchestra is partial view, I'm not really sure I buy that. I saw Beetlejuice from D8 and literally the only thing I missed was when Alex Brightman stood up against the window on stage left for the "ghost zombie Jesus" bit. I'll sit D8 over P110 every single time.

I inquired about this with Telecharge-Customer Service and they directed me to the "Order Status" Page ( if you go to the Main Page or Ticket Page of each show -- this is a click option located on the lower left hand side of the page). It leads you to an Order Status Page ( simply put in your email address and Order # of the particular ticket order) and it will open up on the TC Page showing your telephone-facilitated orders.
Oh, hey, that's nifty! It only works if I log out first (otherwise it just takes me to my account order page), but it does work and makes it feel a little more official! Thanks for the tip!

Update: they're now available for all performances.
If you are an overseas customer, the Telecharge site has occasional systems glitches when you try to proceed with the payment procedure. Upon advice from CustomerService - IT group from a previous time, I was asked to proceed as GUEST ( which can take time to complete as you have to key in some data supposedly already stored in your account - so you need to do this fast so you don't run into the 10 minute- Max time limit). But that seems to be the only way you can get through, as happened to me when I took advantage of this newly priced front row seats. Good luck!
