Seeing BE, Hair and Ruined, need one more...

hi everyone,

I am seeing BE, Hair and Ruined in July (between the 20th and 25th). I was going to pick up tickets at tkts to also see August: Osage County when I am in town but now that it is closing, I need another option.

I don't really want to spend money and buy tickets in advance so it will have to be a show that I can pick up discount tickets for when I am in town. I was thinking of either God of Carnage or Next to Normal. Would either of these be available at tkts in July? Also, is there a possibility that The Wiz will extend?

While I have heard GREAT things about Next to Normal, I think it might be nice to have a balance of plays and musicals. So, I am leaning towards God of Carnage, which I have heard also GREAT things about

God of Carnage is closing on July 27 and resuming September 8. You're just gonna make it. If i was you though, I would definitely see Next to Normal.

The Norman Conquests (that will be the last week)

But if we are choosing between God of Carnage and Next to Normal, then without a doubt choose God of Carnage.

For Carnage, If we were to do a 2pm Wednesday matinee, how early would we have to go for SRO? I am assuming that being it's last week before the summer hiatus that there would definitely be SRO available.

I've seen both and I highly reccomend N2N.

If you're looking for a balance and you're looking for a true comedy, catching any of THE NORMAN CONQUESTS would be a treat. Having seen all of the pieces that you're deciding between, NORMAN, in my opinion, is the best choice. It's the funniest play I've seen in a long time.

next to normal is like nothing I've ever seen. Truly incredible. You'd be passing up something amazing if you don't do next to normal.

TABLE MANNERS or LIVING TOGETHER.

LIVING TOGETHER has a mix of drama and comedy; TABLE MANNERS is 100%, unabashed hilarity. Depends on which you prefer.

For more fun (since RUINED is a downer of a play), go with TABLE MANNERS.

If you're only going to see one, Round and Round the Garden would be my pick.

Very funny, and in my opinion stands best on it's own as it has a bit more closure in the end than the other two.

I heartily recommend Norman Conquests... it's a delightfully off-beat comedic crowd pleaser.

"For Conquests, I would only have time to see one show of the trilogy, which one would you guys recommend?"

See whichever one you have time for. You absolutely cannot go wrong with a single one of them.

You have a MUCH better chance of Norman being on TKTS than your origianl two choices. And you will be at the mercy of your schedule as to which play is available.
