This work will play 10 weeks at the Lortel starting in November, starting Aubrey Plaza (stage debut) and Chris Abbott. Snatched up some tix - can’t speak for the quality of the work, but Abbott’s terrific, and am curious enough to see what Plaza can do onstage. Looking forward to it!

Count me in for anything Aubrey Plaza deems worthy of her time. She has shown great dexterity as an actress in things like the excellent independent film EMILY THE CRIMINAL (which looks like it's currently streaming on Netflix). Glad to see her trying theatre.

I will be SAT as some people say. Aubrey will definitely draw crowds for this. I see the run being almost sold out

Fun fact: Plaza and Abbott co-starred in the movie, Black Bear.

Ticket prices for this are ridiculous.  I'll wait for discounts.

I see plenty of $77 tickets, which makes this very accessible for Plaza's young fans on a budget  - as long as they act quickly. I applaud that. I like Plaza, but I don't  know that this old play is something I want to sit through when my time in NYC is limited. Actually I feel like I already know how she'll play it word for word. I'm gonna pass for now.

Is anyone familiar with the material/has seen the show elsewhere? is it a good play? The prices are steep, even to see Aubrey live.

They're also being sold on TodayTix, for slightly less than through the official website, and, through today, you can get $20 off by using Apple Pay, by using code APPLEPAY in the voucher box.

I can’t wait for this. It’ll be awesome to see Aubrey in a small space like that, too.

Maybe this will be more appealing than then million different renditions done in scene study classes across the tri-state area. A good play but curious about its viability for a run.

I don’t think they need to worry about “viability” with this run.

This will definitely sellout Aubrey is huge right now! And based on her post assuming this only happened because of the strike! But so happy it did!

It's a good two-hander that holds up pretty well.  Shanley wrote this in his Moonstuck period so it has much of that feel although the play is much darker.  The two leads strike me as perfect casting.

I'm old enough (just barely) to have seen the original production that made both John Turturro and John Patrick Shanley stars. It was very downtown, edgy theatre at the time, but also very typical for it's time.  I remember liking it, but I tended to like everything I saw when I was younger.  I got tickets immediately to this, as I love both leads and it's being directed by my pretend boyfriend, actor Jeff Ward (which is odd as I was unaware he had ever directed before but I'll go with it). I am going to the last performance as I'm hoping Jeff might be there (stalker, much?).

As of right now, with the exception of limited seating on one Wednesday matinee, the first three weeks of performances are entirely sold out. The Power of Plaza is Potent!

Not particularly, there are less than 300 seats in that theater and it's an extremely limited engagement with reasonable prices. Chris Abbott is a hell of a talent and I can't wait to see him in this.

Stage Debut???? How I miss fact checkers. Saw her off-Broadway 20 yrs ago. It was funny seeing the Natalie Wood character being the one who mumbled the whole show.https://www.newyorktheatreguide.com/theatre-news/news/rebel-without-a-cause-at-american-theatre-of-actors
