It seems that they're thinking along the same lines as Cabaret. Even though this is a new production and the lead is not the same, which was not the case with Cabaret since that was a remount of the same physical production with the same leading man, Roundabout has recorded a previous revival of She Loves Me and that seems to be good enough for them.
I'd crowd-fund this thing in a heartbeat if it came down to it.

This production also has a larger orchestra and different orchestrations.

I absolutely would, too.
Sign me up for the crowd-fund, too. I know plenty of Broadway actors who also want this recorded, so spreading the word really wouldn't be a problem.
I'd throw a few dollars their way. For Robber Bridegroom too.

I'd chip in to see this recorded, too! Does anyone know approximately how much money would need to be raised?
I've actually been wondering about cast recording costs, as someone on Twitter recently asked Jack Viertel about a recording of the recent Encores! production of 1776, and he said, "If someone puts up the money!"
I was checking it out on ibdb after seeing this revival and was surprised to see it was not even nominated for best score.
And while Jack Cassidy won for Supporting Actor, it was the only acting nomination for the show.
It did manage a Best Musical and Best Director nomination though.

Approximately $500,000.00.
Lack of nominations may have accounted from it not being up for consideration until well after the show opened (and even after it had closed) because its late April opening was at that time past the cutoff date for the 1963 Tony Awards.
I think that is where the false "HELLO DOLLY knocked it from popularity" idea stems from because it was up for awards that year as opposed to when we would have expected it to be based on how things run today.
That's not to say it would have likely fared better up against stars like Vivien Leigh or Zero Mostel or mega-hit OLIVER the previous year.
When James Snyder was interviewed by BroadwayWorld in 2010, he talked about how he talked to some of the producers of Cry-Baby about doing a cast recording, but no one wanted to spend any money on it.

Though thank goodness the recording finally came last year!
