Shoshana

She is amazing. Do you think if she was offered a standby role she would take it or is she too big for it now? Because there was a post before how Eden could still be a standby for something and is not that famous. I think Shoshana is too big for it but just wondering what you guys thought.

re: Shoshana

No. I don't think she is "too big" to take a standby position.

re: Shoshana

Do you think she is big enough to originate a lead part? She is deffinatley moving up. Like not so long ago she was ensemble in Hairspray, which isn't bad but now she is Elphana. That is amazing.

re: Shoshana

Shoshana seems to think she's bigger than she is. I met her when she was a standby and she was really nice, then when she first took over and nice, but now she seems to think shes the best thing yet. she puts on a great dhow but her atitude changed alot since January and she needs to calm down.

She already originated a part in Hairspray. But she wants to go record after Wicked is through.

re: Shoshana

She is gorgeous. I only saw her at Broadway Bears a few years ago and she was very sweet. She sat at my table for a few minutes and was sweet as sugar.
Mary was even sweeter.
I love the red dress she wore at Bares this year.
She looks sexy.

re: Shoshana

I really don't see her doing that well in the charts. The girl can sing and she's very nice... but for some reason i can't see her as a chart success story... maybe it's because she can sing!

My favorite recording she's done is "Home". For Scott Alan's pieces. I'm just addicted to it. It might be the Alan part, it might be the Bean, but either way, it's incredible.

Shoshana is the sweetest most genuine Broadway actress I've met to date.. she is the FARTHEST thing from being nasty.. Her work is brilliant, and her attitute is just as amazing as her talents!

re: Shoshana

When was the last time that you actually saw her at the stage door? I was there in mid-April and she was being very short & rushed with people and I thought it was because she had a charity concert that night. But then I was at the stage door again in late May for Jennifer's last show and she seemed even more stuck up and stand-offish with people then in April. I didn't get a good vibe from her at all and really didn't enjoy her performance in the show that much.

re: Shoshana

She's a passing fad.

re: Shoshana

I enjoyed her vocals in Wicked, but I must say, she was a bit cold at the stage door.

re: Shoshana

Could it be that some of you are hanging out at the stage door a bit much and you're beginning to freak her out?

Wow...I'm guessing Bobby isn't much of a Shoshana fan! And about the being by the stage door to much. I live in Chicago and only go to the stage doors when I'm in NYC for shows and typically only on the night that I go see the show, so I really don't think that's the case.

re: Shoshana

Well I've been there many times and she's always been incredible, the last time being Tuesday night.. could it also be that she performs one of the most vocally demanding roles on Broadway today and is tired after performing a 2 hr 45 min show? She has always signed and talked with her fans after..

Dare I even bring up the subject that Idina practically NEVER came out to sign, especially not on matinees when Shoshana does.

And dont even bring up her "no talent" excuse, shes FIERCE and has one of the best voices on Broadway today.

re: Shoshana

She really doesn't have anyting close to the best voice on Broadway. She is full of vocal tricks, runs, stylized vibrato. Her acting skills are limited, and from several accounts, she's a snob too. I like Wicked, I love the role of Elphaba, but Bean just doesn't do it for me. I haven't hated a performer this much since Susan Egan.

re: Shoshana

Sho started off really super friendly to her fans, but I think some of them have gotten sooooooo obsessed with her because she had shown a little interest in them, that it's probably that she doesn't want to encourage any more obsessions. I mean, I'm sorry and this is going to sound reeeeeeeally bitchy (probably bc it is), but if a guy is hitting on me and I am not interested, I get really stuck up and don't look him in the eye in an attempt to be like "please back off!" and I suspect that is how Sho is feeling. Not that she should act like a snob, but if you had 13 year old girls stalking you at the stage door every day, giving you tons of presents and pretty much harrassing you just bc you made the mistake of answering a few emails way back when, I suspect you might try to give off a vibe of "I'm not interested in talking to you" either. Furthermore, I think that when she was answering questions on her website people started to get really personal and ask her questions about her sex life, etc., and so again, if I were her, I might feel the same way around fans now. I mean, who do these people think they are? Just bc Sho is nice doesn't mean that they have a right to think she is now their best best best friend.

re: Shoshana

I too love her voice and if it weren't for a few poor choices in characterization, I'd probably be a fanatic. But I was not impressed with her attitude towards her fans. I realize she may be tired, but how hard is it to paint on a smile for 15 minutes for your fans? After all, they're the ones who will buy the majority of her albums and/or tickets to her next show.

re: Shoshana

AMEN Benzy!

Sho is so talented. Her voice blew me away and her energy on stage is completely contagious. I for one hope she continues with leading roles on broadway but don't expect her to. I will still follow her recording career loyally though.

Her attitude doesnt take away from her talent at all... but from what I've seen of her she seems nice.

Bottom line, we don't know her so we shouldn't judge her. That's it.

re: Shoshana

I've seen Sho perform and she blew me away with practically every note that came out of her mouth! She is always so consistent with her performances and always hits every note. She is such a sweetheart at the stage door. She always makes an effort to sign everything and to talk with her fans. I have never seen her be snotty or rude to anyone and I just saw her Tuesday night.
