re: Shoshana

I too do not understand the whole Bean obsession. She reminds me of what a voice student of Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey would sound like and that is not a good thing. She screams, it isn't pretty. I hate to say this but she isn't exactly what you would call universally attractive ya know. If I wanna see short, ugly girls screeching out notes I'll go to an ANNIE audition okay. She always over sings. I'd like to hear her sing something that is simple. Pure melody. Lay of the riffs and howling at the moon and just sing. I also do not find her to be a strong actress by any means whatsoever. Please don't misinterpret what I am saying. I think that she is talented but I just don't think she is all that and a Tab.

re: Shoshana

I'm sure you do. Everyone thinks those things about performers. But the difference between everyone else and yourself is that you're posting rude and potentially hurful comments on a message board. For instance, I can't stand Victoria Clark, but I'm not going to sit here and write everything I hate about her and why.

Wonderboy, perfect

YOu hit the nail on the head WonderBoy

re: Shoshana

And I bet WonderBoy is deliriously good looking. Or so he would like to believe.

re: Shoshana

YOu don't have to be attractive to recognize ugliness.

re: Shoshana

Makes no sense.

I am entitled to my opinion as much as you are. There are as many BeanCurd haters as there are lovers.

re: Shoshana

Totally out of the argument... not in a negative tone:

Im curious to know what those of you who do not enjoy Sho like to listen to? What sort of voice?

re: Shoshana

It makes perfect sense. Say that you don't like her and move on. Why make several posts about how you find her unattractive? Now that's what makes no sense.

re: Shoshana

Didn't people think it was tacky that Shoshana told the gals over at the ShoshanaBean Yahoo group that they had her approval to start a fan club for her but then when the bigger and glitzier SBO came online that website became the "official fan website"???

She dropped the Yahoo group like a hot potato??

re: Shoshana

Sorry I won't post anymore about how horribly unattractive and untalented she is.

You’re too easy to provoke Pj.

re: Shoshana

Obviously, there are individuals on this board who feel they need to justify their opinions by fabricating lies about a person's musicianship. Bean does not go off-key. That is a wild and ridiculous lie.

SHE WAS OFF KEY ON January 14th, 2005, when I saw the show.

re: Shoshana

Bella, you can't really say that unless you've heard every single performance that Shoshana Bean has given.
This is my signature.

re: Shoshana

Exactly. I'm merely saying she is an inconsistent performer.

re: Shoshana

"And I bet WonderBoy is deliriously good looking. Or so he would like to believe."

I'm sorry did I ever say that I was "deliriously good looking"? No, I don't think so. Although like most people I have insecurities about myself, I have never been told that I was ugly. I have always been told that I am universally an attractive man but that is neither here nor there as this isn't about me.

Barbra Streisand is not what you would call universally attractive but she is a phenomenal talent. Hell, most big Broadway stars aren't exactly Brad and Angelina but the have the talent to back them up.

Regardless of how I feel about her looks I still find her to not be manna from the heavens to the Broadway stage.

PJ, why are you taking everything against Ms. Bean as a personal attack? That shows your immaturity. My opinion is my opinion. I say what I think and what I feel. Don't over heat because you are not getting the answer that you want to hear. Life doesn't work that way and if you wanna be in this business then honey, you better catch a clue awfully fast. I'm not trying to put you down or go outta my way to "insult" Ms. Bean but you really need to stop, step back and exhale before you post.

"Exactly. I'm merely saying she is an inconsistent performer."

--If that was merely the point you were attempting to get across, I'm sure everything you wrote about her appearance was necessary, huh?

WonderBoy: I was trying to say that unless you yourself are perfection in the male form, you have no room to talk about anyone else's imperfections. No one really cares how "good looking" you've been told you are.

Am I missing something? Do you honestly believe Shoshana screams more than Idina? At least Shoshana can hit the notes every night!

re: Shoshana

"WonderBoy: I was trying to say that unless you yourself are perfection in the male form, you have no room to talk about anyone else's imperfections."

No one is sheer perfection. We are all hopelessly flawed yet we all still have opinions about how other people look. She could look like Hatchet Face from 'Cry Baby' for all I care, the point is that she is not what I would consider to be an amazing talent.

"No one really cares how "good looking" you've been told you are."

Then why do you continue to bring it up? Sounds a bit hypocritical to me.

I can however assure you that I think I am done on this subject as you are not showing me that you are capable of having a mature "conversation" about such matters.

re: Shoshana

Actually, I believe myself to be handling this whole matter quite well. It's just pointless to personally attack performers the way posters do on this board. Name a favorite performer of yours, WonderBoy. Then I'll sit here and post as many comments about their physical appearance as possible. I can understand constructive criticism about the performances given, but how they look?...come on. And yes, I realize that's all that seems to matter. You're nothing if you're not perfect.

So you just cool it, Fosse.

re: Shoshana

BobbyBubby, you mustn't have been feeling well that day, there is no doubt in my mind that it was YOU who werte having an off day, not Shoshana.

And its ridiculous to make fun of the way a performer looks.. Post a picture of yourself so we can see how good looking YOU are. Shoshana is beautiful.

re: Shoshana

Some people are absolutely RIDICULOUS. Usually when bashing like this goes on, I hold my tongue--but you people just do not give it a rest. Okay, you don't enjoy her voice. Wonderful, you don't think she can act. But you really take it one step too far when you take experiences from your own obscure little world of idiocy and try to pull things out of nowhere like the way she LOOKS. How obnoxious you are to try to aim your hatred toward someone because of their appearance. From my experiences, Shoshana has been nothing but a wonderfully kind, thoughtful person who can sing CIRCLES around many and your comments are rude, childish and obnoxious. Grow the hell up.

As I said, usually I don't speak out, but you are crossing a damn line.
