Anywho, I hope she is well tomorrow. I hated to miss her but I understand that she simply could not perform. Still, being o/2 this weekend on fav stars is disheartening but thats the price to pay for live theater.
*sigh* isn't it great that this message board is here so you guys can bicker and just be generally rude, negative and mean to people for no reason?
I've come to realize that I think the only person I've ever heard people talk about with no negative responses (and hey, maybe I just missed em) is Audra MacDonald. It seems like everyone loves them some Audra. She is the peacemaker of musical theatre.
I think I'm just gonna spread the love on all these catty boards by reminding people of her. I imagine it to go something like this: A: "Brooklyn/Idina/Rent/Eden/Shoshana/insert*fandom*you*hate here* RULES!" B: "oh God, not again, you people suck for liking that show!" A: "no, YOU suck!" B: "no, your MOM sucks!" *bickering continues and intensifies* Me: "....ain't Audra MacDonald grand?" A & B: "..why, yes...yes she is." *pause as the love for Audra engulfs them, cleansing them of all negativity* A & B: "let's never fight again!!!" *many group hugs*
...yeah, obviously I'm heavily deprived of sleep, but I just can't stand all the damn negativity that's being spread around so unnecessarily. Is it so hard to ask that if you see a thread title regarding a show or artist you dislike, that for your sake and out of respect for the opinion of others, you don't go there simply to knock on the subject of the post? Yes, of course you have the right, but why would you want to do that? Is it that satisfying to irritate and annoy people, or to play devil's advocate with people you know will disagree with you? I just don't get it...
...and hey, maybe you guys aren't even really fighting - maybe it's some friendly joking thing you do and I just missed the sarcasm, etc. but it happens so much on these boards and it just sucks. Don't you guys get sick of it?
Regardless of whether I think Shoshana Bean is the shiznit or that she's the worst thing to hit the musical theatre stage, I do hope she has a wonderful closing to her time at Wicked. I've had an experience recently in which I put everything I had into a show and then an injury pulled me out just as I was about to go into performances. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Here's to hoping she gets well enough to play her final performance without a hitch...
If I show you the darkness I hold inside, will you bring me to light?

"its not up to the producers whether or not shoshana goes on for ANY performance. it is 100% her call and no one is allowed to say anything to convince her TO GO ON or NOT to go on except maybe her doctor! (or her mom!! hahah) i have no doubt she will be there even if she has to get a dozen steroid shots to get through! "
That's actually not true. If the producers, or more directly, the stage manager, feel she can't maintain the integrity of the performance, then they won't let her go on. I doubt this would happen today because of the circumstances, but that's the way it works.
