I tend to go through a bit of an obsessive phase every time I see/discover a new musical. The ones that stand out in memory are:
Wicked, in 2004. It lasted a few months until, ironically, I actually saw it.
Altar Boyz, December 2005 - May 2006
Lestat, May 2006 onwards for a few months.
My big one is Rent: I went through a really, really obsessive phase in 1999 which lasted around a year. I still really love the show, but I've calmed down a lot about it since then.

LES MIS was/is kind of a continuing one (a little on the 'off' side now, since it's closed again)
I saw it 37 or 39 times (I can't remember which right now) over the course of about 10 years
Even after I thought it had worn off somewhat, all I had to do was see the show and I was sucked right back in again
And THE SEAFARER -- that was a short-but-intense obsession. I only had a few months to pack in as many performances as I could get to NYC for (9 in all). I guess that one was forcibly 'cured', tho I still miss it
Currently: Spamalot and Mamma Mia.
For years it was Rent, then I moved on.
After that my major obsessions were
Taboo,
Hedwig,
Bright Lights, Big City,
Sweeney Todd,
Grey Gardens,
Xanadu
Past obsessions:
Rent <---got old, movie ruined it
Wicked <---still like it but not obsessed
Zanna, Don't! <---would like it more if my sister didn't play the soundtrack every hour of every day but its ok
Yes, I was what they call in Broadway Abridged a "pre-hag" to the thousandth degree.
Current obsessions:
Spring Awakening (music, plot, sex, also Moritz's hair, what's not to like?)
Sweeney Todd revival (great show with a great cast)
Gypsy (because Patti LuPone simply owns the theater world)
...please tell me it's somewhat common for a fifteen-year-old girl to be a fan of Patti LuPone?

I don't know if I'd call it an obsession...but ever since I was a little kid I was "obsessed" with Phantom and Les Mis but even though I still love them both and they're still my faves, I'm not exactly obsessed with them.
But recent obsessions that aren't as strong anymore include Pirate Queen, Lennon, Wicked and the Scarlet Pimpernel. I was obsessed with Wicked when I saw the original cast. I saw it before the cast recording came out so it was all very new to me and I loved it. But after it gained such a huge following and other obsessive fans started to creep me out, I sort of fell out of love with the show.
Right now, I'm obsessed with Der Glockner von Notre Dame and Into the Woods.

I went through a mild Little Women obsession from March to May 2005. Then I had this insane, intense, obsession with Spring Awakening that started in June and is currently still going on, though I must say it's starting to lose a little of its intensity.

My first was Phantom...probably because it was the first recording of a show I had on cd. I remember sitting on the couch with my headphones on every afternoon after school, and following along with the libretto. Cried every time. Funny that after I saw it, the obsession ended. (Yes, I was a dork!)

LePetiteFromage ,
I thought the 1962 The Music Man with Robert Preston was one of the relatively few filmed musicals that worked on screen. It's a quality production and I would love to have a restored transfer on Blu-ray.
I have not seen the 2003 version.
