I picked up mine at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square (I work two blocks away, lucky me). At first I was nervous because it wasn’t on the “New Releases” rack towards the front doors, but found it downstairs in the DVD section. Full SRP
As far as special features, there’s deleted scenes, interviews with theatre stars about performing on Bway, Fun extra clips and interviews with people divided by show. It’s pretty well put together.

Watched it last night and I just have to say it was simply amazing.
I would call this documentary our generation's BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE documentary of sorts as it showcases what the reality of Broadway is today.
I found the documentary to have touched on and covered EVERYTHING -- some in more detail and others in just a mention, but I feel it covered everything. If they were going to devote detailed coverage on everything for that season, this would have been a 20-part documentary (each part being 3 hours long!). The jist is all there AND perfectly covered.
The Boy George/Rosie O'Donnell/Raul Esparza bit was mentioned adequately. You want details? Google. There was no need to devote 30 minutes on that incident.
Those sections of Mike Reidel and the others discussing things perfectly filled in the gap about what the masses were saying (they were literally OUR voices). I loved hearing their comments (yes...even Reidel's).
I was thrilled to see the rehearsal/press footage of the shows covered, especially CAROLINE, OR CHANGE. They could have used montage press reel footage whenever they showed performance clips of the shows as those clips were tired and stagnant (especially the same old one of Tonya's "Lot's Wife").
Yes...the strongest focus was on AVENUE Q, but it gave the documentary some focus and invested enough time on the show to give you some emotional connection to at least someone. You enjoyed and felt their win at the Tony's.
Haven't had a chance to watch the bonus material (just skipped thru some -- Donna Murphy's emotional bit did hit home), so I'm looking forward to all that.
Anyone debating whether to watch it or not -- its a must. Seriously.
Buy, rent or steal a copy. TODAY!

Its on the Broadway Speaks section of the Special Features.
Also great was Liza (Minnelli) talking to Alan Cumming and talking about when she was the recipient of the Gypsy Robe when she starred in FLORA, THE RED MENACE back in 1965. She stated that she's the only 'star' of a show that has received it.

I saw it at Virgin last night for $29. Thank God I waited.

*Slight Spoiler Alert*
Has anyone watched it with the commentary on yet? They have a ball ripping apart Michael Riedel. I also love how Dori mentions how hard it was to interview Boy George because she was distracted by how gorgeously blue his eyes were.
The whole piece realy is great, I would've realy loved to have seen more full performance clips from each of the shows, esp Caroline and Taboo, since they were so short lived.

I just ordered mine through Amazon-no local stores had it. I hate shopping in stores-it is so frustrating. Borders does not carry anything anymore-they used to be the place to find artists who were off the beaten path. Now they stock their shelves with those mainstream "indie" people whose songs are on Greys Anatomy and have record deals with Starbucks. Borders is junk now-you have to special order everything that isnt popular-nothing is ever in stock. However, they have aisles and aisles of coffee, calendars and yoga mats. God forbid they not compete with department stores.

Not my voice, thank you. I have zero need for critics. I don't read them and have no interest. Their segments carried no interest for me and could have been disposed of without any regret. If I had a choice between another 45 minutes of behind the scenes or these blabbering egos, well, there wouldn't be a choice. Most of them were eating crow after The Tonys anyway. The documentary is great, and the extras too. Definitely listen to the commentary. Best moment without spoilers, the writers of "Ave. Q" walking up the street to the The Plymouth on Taboo's first preview.

"Their segments carried no interest for me and could have been disposed of without any regret."
But in the comentary they mentioned that their segments were important because they show how nobody knows--not even seasoned critics have the magic pill or the all-knowing power to know if the show will be a success.

Well this site usually posts photos from the gypsy robe "awarding".
i watch this today and enjoyed it. It was a great look into the process. Definitely things I could pick apart, but overall I did enjoy it. Euan just made me cry when describing the taboo closing. It was so honest and real.

Having been fascinated by Broadway dancers since I was a little kid, I always was aware of this Gypsy Robe tradition. Having a mother who danced in many Broadway choruses had a lot to do with me learning about this tradition, but I can easily see how many never heard of it. Thanks to the internet and many Broadway sites, this tradition has been exposed to the mainstream masses and photos are always posted when a show does their Gypsy Robe ceremony.
Here is a nice link to photos of tons of recent (and past) Gypsy Robe ceremonies: https://www.broadwayworld.com/sitesearch.cfm

I expected much more from the bonus features.
Perhaps one day they'll release all the other footage.
