We need Sutton Foster to star in the next annual revival of Gypsy!
(Forbidden Broadway reference)
I am surprised no one mentioned that old chestnut Man of La Mancha
Sutton has quite a few more years to star in Gypsy - at least if it is to be at all believable or good. The only reason Gypsy needs to be revived anytime soon is for Tonya Pinkins to do a star turn as Rose - and hopefully we can get Anika Noni Rose as Louise!
I would love for some LaChuisa works to be revived - most especially The Wild Party and Marie Christine, so more people could hear the ravishing scores. But perhaps they are more viable for Encores! than a full-scall revival.
Most recently I've been dreaming of a Broadway Passion revival with Laura Benanti as Fosca, Kelli O'Hara as Clara, and Steven Pasquale as Giorgio.
Reefer Madness (off broadway) at second stage or New World Stages with Megan Hilty as Sally. Also she needs to be Audrey in Little Shop.

1. MAME...but they have to get a great lead and Vera, or it will suck like the DC version a few years ago
2. Over Here...one of the most enjoyable, I.e., smile on your face the entire time, shows I have ever seen
3. Purlie...great score, funny
4. The Great White Hope...assuming they can get a great Lead
5. Bells are Ringing...assuming they can get the right lead and director...and please get rid of The Midas Touch
6. The Happy Time in a scaled down production, a la what the Signature in Va did a few years back
7. Hello, Dolly...but only if it is a re-thought production. We have already had two revivals of the Original
8. Hallelujah Baby...with a re-written book
9. She Loves Me...needs a great leading man, which the original did not have...that is actually the lead role
10. Sweet Bird of Youth...it has been at least 35 years since the Irene Worth revival...don't think there was one since
We don't need another Into the Woods...please!!!
THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM
ONCE ON THIS ISLAND
THE RINK
All great shows with exceptional scores that haven't been back on Broadway since their premieres. And none of them depends on giant production values, just great performers who believe in the material.
Grand Hotel
The Secret Garden
City of Angels
The Rink - Maybe with Patti LuPone and Laura Benanti?
Passion - Laura Benanti and Kelli O'Hara, as mentioned before, would be fantastic.
Gypsy - Donna Murphy would kill as Rose, as would Tonya Pinkins. I think Jessie Mueller would be a great Louise opposite Donna.
The Wild Party (either version, though I'd love to see the LaChiusa version) - I'd love to see Megan Hilty as Queenie!
Once On This Island - Nikki M. James would make a fantastic Ti Moune.
I wonder if Anika Noni Rose could handle an Encores production of Marie Christine? She's sung everything from "Dreamgirls" to "Pirates of Penzance," so I'd be curious to hear it!
Of course what we need is another revival of Gypsy! Goes without saying that one Broadway revival per decade since the show premiered isn't NEARLY enough. Sheesh!

Mame
I'd love to see a tweaked version of Lil Abner happen. The show is packed with fantastic music, but some of the humor does fall flat at this point. It doesn't even need a major overhaul, just a little tuck here and there to smooth everything out.
I think Greenwillow could make for an interesting revival. Another show with a great score that might just need a little adjustment to work in 2014+.
How about a revival of "Mame" with Christine Ebersol?
Once Upon a Mattress, though if it is revived, I fear my dream of seeing Sutton as Winifred won't ever happen.
I'd love a revival of Lil' Abner! I don't think we NEED a revival of Gypsy, but one within the next ten years in inevitable.

As a big fan of the 90s on Broadway, just based on my collection of cast recordings... Side Show (yes I know it's kinda in the works), Titanic (yes, I know it was gonna happen, but not anymore, but it still needs to sooner rather than later), Starmites (cuz I live the score, and think sci fi/superheroes is really in), The Life (just cuz!), Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (yes, not 90s but I just thought of it) Will Rogers Follies, and I second Dreamgirls and Grand Hotel.

She Loves Me. It's been more than 20 years, it's time for it to be seen again on Broadway. People forget what a lovely score it has. I think Warren Carlyle could do something really charming with it.
Big River- one of my favorite Best Musical scores
Grey Gardens-
Applause- Please sometime before I die
Good News
A Pacific Overtures broadway revival would be great. I don't know if Merrily We Roll Along has been revived recently but I would like to see that.
