"I want Mame with Bernadette Peters and Patti Lupone"
This would be so interesting/fun/amazing if they swapped roles nightly. That's the only way I could see that happening since neither of them would take the smaller part and play second fiddle to the other.
I'd love Patti in a revival of Applause. Also:
Aida
Dreamgirls
Sunset Boulevard!
I took 6 years of jazz, tap, and Madonna-shake-your-boobs-and-call-it-dancing.
KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN
THE RINK
BIG RIVER (a proper revival without gimmicks)
ONCE ON THIS ISLAND
CAROUSEL
STATE FAIR
ALLEGRO
THE WILD PARTY
THE SECRET GARDEN
BARNUM (please without NPH)
SWEENEY TODD (Full scale revival)
MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG
CHILDREN OF EDEN
^From this and other threads it kind of reads like you have something agains deaf people, the hearing impaired and productions that aim to make theatre more accessible for everyone. You'd think that would be a good thing.

"I fear PURLIE will seem awfully dated, if not racist nowadays."
I saw it when Encores did it and it was embarrassing. It came across as very anti-white
Given the period in which it is set and the fact that most of the principals are black, did you expect anything else?
Merrily We Roll Along!! The music is all kinds of excellent, and last years West End revival was brilliant!

NO to Rent- It was one of my least favorite shows to see and my least favorite to be in.
I really want Hairspray back on Broadway (I know, I know), but it's way too soon to be revived. LOL
I prefer musicals, but, I think all of my favorites have had revivals enough. I will go with:
Torch Song Trilogy
Gemini
Cloud Nine
Funny Girl with Stephanie J of course.

Chess- using the original London script with subsequent revisions but NOT the Richard Nelson script and remove any choreography which never works with the tone of the show

Transfer Encores! Most Happy Fella right to Broadway ASAP.

Torch Song Trilogy and Rocky Horror need the revival treatment badly.

I have seen almost every version of Chess and I really think it needs to be set in the 70's in order for it to work, all choreography needs to be dropped and should be sung thru with very little if no dialogue. The recent UK tour was a disaster- cheesily over choreographed. The recent Actors Fund one nighter starring Nastacia Diaz and Robert Cuccioli had no dialogue and was mostly based on the original London Show- this is the most recent "endorsed" by Tim Rice version. Its operatic in scope and I wish could have seen what Michael Bennett had in mind before he was replaced by Trevor Nunn. I did see that as well with Elaine Paige and it was stunning but very 80's in look. The revolving chessboard that tilted up during Endgame was STUNNING!

OH YES!!!
There NEEDS to be revival of Aida, I think that it could've run for longer than it did!
Also, I would love to see Megan Hilty as the witch in ITW!

I would love to see a revival of Jelly's Last Jam.
I say yes to Dogfight. If it were to be brought to Broadway, it would be considered a Revival most likely and honestly, if they tightened up the book a little, it would be an amazing show... the music is so great.
