I just flew almost six hours home, but Little Me with Christian Borle at NY Encores makes me seriously think about flying in and out on a weekend in Feb.
Cabaret If/Then also, the revamped GIGI...I am hoping the powers-that-be somehow include some of my favorite songs from the 1958 film that were deleted for the 1974 Broadway production.
Looking forward to CABARET, ROCKY, all three Encores! productions and especially THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, which I saw in Williamstown and loved. If Steven Pasquale (happy birthday to him today, by the way) doesn't get Tony nom'd, I'll be shocked. He's that good. (Although I think as of now it's Jefferson Mays' for the taking.)
I think Bullets Over Broadway could, and should, be an absolute riot. When it was first announced I thought Rocky sounded like a disaster waiting to happen. I got more interested when Andy Karl was announced as the lead and I realised who the creative team were, and I'm now eating my words after going online and seeing clips from the German staging. I think it looks thrilling.
If/THEN the writers got a Pulitzer and that's no easy feet but I wonder if they will take this to another city before Broadway to get all the kinks out.
