Well, this is just disgusting. Any clue which play this might be? https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Sienna-Miller-Turned-Down-Broadway-Return-Upon-Learning-of-Her-Male-Co-Stars-Much-Higher-Salary-20150913

Is Sienna Miller that famous? Maybe the man was a much bigger star.

This thread title made me imagine her costar was going to be amputated from the waist down or something.

Of course the male was a much bigger star for it to be a two person play with one being Sienna who won't sell any tickets based on her name. The truly disgusting thing is when people blame gender, race, etc. when it has nothing to do with it. Sad, an actress to avoid.

I agree with AntV on this one. Unless we know who it was, calling this blatant sexism isn't right.

Could it have been Misery?

To PRS
Talk about sexism. Imagine if the sexes were reversed and a similar statement was made. All help would break loose and rightly so. Now I see why I have you blocked. I wanted to see all the responses to this. Unbelievable.

I would hardly think Sienna could be up to that task.

Lady, I got no idea what you're on about. Are you very afraid of penises?

Oooh, yes! Let's do!
Imagine if the sexes were reversed and a similar statement was made.
Except that it wouldn't happen because THAT'S what sexism is!!!! See how that works?
All help would break loose and rightly so.
What, you mean like mades and drivers and butlers? GREAT!! Workers of the world, unite! I agree with you on that count Mr R!!!
Now I see why I have you blocked.
You didn't know why you had her blocked? You blocked on a whim? On a hunch that in the future she would say something that contradicts what you said and you can't have THAT? Well, that's a pretty safe bet in conversations, Mr R.
I wanted to see all the responses to this. Unbelievable.
Perfectly believable. A whole lot of people in this place are in desperate need of some consciousness raising seminars.

Of course I see I meant "maids" but "mades" too, now that I think of it.

I just don't understand how you respond to someone to tell them that they're wrong and it's a good thing you can't see what they wrote because they've blocked your messages but what you wrote that they read is wrong and proof that they were right to block you.

What's the point of blocking someone then unblocking to see what they wrote---or did I get that wrong.
I never know what that Roxy is on about or actually ON !

It's hard to say. I can't imagine MIller being the draw. But if it was Miller and Broderick, then yeah, I could see her being pissed. If it was Miller and Bradley Cooper, then nope. He deserves more.

I was going to make a joke about the size of his manhood and for some reason Bette Midler's voice popped into my head from her line in OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE, "Does the phrase 'Needled*ck, the bug f*cker mean anything to you?"
So I think I'll go watch that now.

I never actually believed 'the wife and I' thing----a bit like Harvey, or Harveyetta-a pretend when you need to sound all butch and macho--nah--that's not Mr Roxy.

I'm biased because I've never found her to be a terribly remarkable actress. However, less than half is a pretty dramatic difference for a two person play. Because the ad is in my sidebar... I would understand if Nina Arianda was upset to be getting paid less than half of what Sam Rockwell was. But if the show was going to sell almost entirely on the name of the other actor... like a Bradley Cooper or Hugh Jackman, then he deserved the big salary.
