Sister Act Honest Review

So had to say a little something about sister act...saw it two night ago when my mom came into town and let me say...one of the funnest nights youll have in ny!! Such a blast!! feel good, nice songs, good cast...patina miller and victoria clark are awesome!!! a great fun show guys!! definatly worth a look!! much better then I had expected!!!!!

Totally agree....I had no desire to see this and it was fantastic...Everything from the great music , cast, sets, lighting, costumes...a great evening at the theater...while I liked Mormon, I would go see this again over that. I hope it can find an audience of New Yorkers- hardly anyone I heard there spoke English....rumor is that Funny Girl is looking to book the theater.

hahahaha not even close to Pat Robertson themysteriousgrowl, im just Pat Darcy from Midtown! haha! dont think he's a broadway fan also! just thought id give my 2 cents on the show!! especially after all the bad buzz its been getting!! really had no desire to see it but was pleasantly suprised!! I usualy give a show a chance after the tony nods! have to say patina miller and victoria clark really did a great job!!! hope people give it a chance! it really is a fun night out!

I do have to say that after THE BOOK OF MORMON and THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, SISTER ACT was the best musical of the season. Much better than CATCH ME IF YOU CAN and PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT.

What I never understood was how all the illustrations for Sister Act make Patina look like she's 50. When I actually saw her, I was like "damn, she's young, hot, and adorable and not some 50 year old nun."

Maybe that hurts the marketing too.

I agree with the OP. I went in thinking it would be good, nothing amazing, but probably worthwhile (unlike some people, I don't go spend $100+ on tickets for a show I've already decided will be horrible and go in with a closed mind). I thought it the entire show was just sheer fun with so many catchy songs. It was one of the most enjoyable shows I have seen and I will go back and see it again for sure.

I'll start by saying that I was very excited to see it (saw it in June).
I remember tons of funny moments,
Then it got boring,
They did tons of fun costume changes
then it was over.


I saw Sister Act about 2 months ago and I remember thinking Catch Me, Scottsboro AND Book Of Mormon were better.

still haven't seen Priscilla. (anyone have any free tickets?!)

I really enjoyed Sister Act. I wasn't totally crazy about Patina Miller though. I just didn't see any layers to her performance. She started out like on warp speed so she had nowhere to go with it. Outside of that, I had a really good time. Loved the score.
