This was the perfect day for me to read this thread!
I have been around dancers the size of twigs all week, and have been feeling like an elephant or something.

Alrighty enough rambling, just wanted to show you my appreciation for an uplifting message on a hard day.

Im glad I read all of this - I Was like Hey! What about those of us who are skinny because of genetics?

But I agree wtih the overall point. Beauty is so diverse, thus making it beauty. And to what Sally wrote, because someone who has food stains doesn't appear to care. It's not quite what you wear, but HOW you wear it. Appearances reflect what goes on inside.

Rosencrantz: "Be happy - if you're not even HAPPY what's so good about surviving? We'll be all right. I suppose we just go on." - from Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

Sometimes these kind of posts/topics really bother me.

I am 20, skinny. Wear the smallest size skirt I can get. Wear size 2 jeans long (b/c I have long legs). Wear small or x-small shirts. My sister is the same way but 3 in. taller. We eat. I eat what other people eat, yet I dont ever gain weight. My mother was like this too when she was younger.

I have boobs, big ones I'm told for my size, my butt is okay I guess. (My boyfriend likes it and good jeans help.) I hate my legs, I never wear shorts, or skirts that go above my knees. WHY? B/c I have forever gotten comments like "Oh you actually eat! Wow you are so skinny, geez." When I was younger these were said with disgust. Now they are said mostly with envy. But I still can't stand my skinny ugly legs b/c I have a huge complex over them. But it doesn't really bother me unless I'm wearing shorts. which I don't wear.

I like being skinny now most of the time b/c I am finally hearing people compliment me instead of feeling like a freak. (you heavy girls aren't the only ones who can have a miserable time at school b/c of weight!) I love parts of my body now, and still dislike others. (But who doesn't?_

Now these kind of posts bother me b/c they assume every girl you see who is skinny starves herself, and is a horrible person. Or by going on and on about how you are normal sized (i.e. not skinny) you imply that someone who is skinny isn't normal. (or even ugly.) So when you say "Love what you look like," mean that about every body size, skinny ones included. (Does that make sense.)

So don't write off someone just b/c they are skinny.

My sister and I have even talked about how you can tell a naturally skinny person from someone whos starves themselves. Naturally skinny girls still have curves. Starving skinny is straight thru and thru.
