They spend so much time praising him, then they snub him. Right.

Well said, say hello to my avatar friend (who himself was snubbed).

If Percy Blakeney were in Les Mis....
Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.
Javert: (Looks for gun)

I feel very sorry for Michael, he deserved it so much.
As did Mano and Patti, this cast deserves all the awards.

I'm still floored Sweeney didn't get Best Revival.
And I would've REALLY loved to see Patti win.
I hope she comes back to Broadway soon again after this, so she has another chance.

I still can't believe Pajama Game won!!! Every newspaper/magazine has praised Sweeney since it's start. Every newspaper/magazine predicted Sweeney would win Best Revivial. What the hell happened?!?!?!
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Stephen Sondheim wasn't eligible for a thing tonight. Some of you need to learn a little bit more before you start making false statements. How was Sondheim screwed? Details, please.

how long, maybe another hundred years until Sondheim is fully appreciated? I mean his works causes you to think. Yes theater might be entertainment but is their anything wrong if you get a little knowledge out of it!

Patti looked confident when they announced her, and I bet now she is breaking car windows...or people's faces...

I still don't know what to say, except that I think Felciano, LuPone, and the production were robbed.

Hate to bring this up again, but it sounds a lot like what happened to Brokeback, which I'm still pissed about. The End.

Well, I guess Sondheim gets another chance when Company comes...

Patti's already won a Tony.
Maybe the Tony voters figured the revival Tony would help PJ Game when it opens this fall, rather than Sweeney who has already made back it's investment.

I'm not saying that some of these actors and shows did not deserve an award. But, we are talking best!

LOL Sondheim won a Tony for Sweeney for its ORIGINAL PRODUCTION, YA'LL. He was not nominated for anything tonight because he did not rewrite the show or write any eligible new shows this season. And just for the record, if you haven't followed Tony history, Sondheim and Tony are not necessarily synonymous.
And I'm sure he is doing just fine.

He also has already won for Company. I don't think he's been snubbed at all, he has gone 6 for 9 in the Best Score category. And he won for Best Lyrics for Company. And his lyrics and score helped A Funny Thing... win Best Musical. So definately not overlooked by the Tonys.

Where have you been? Sondheim's works and the revivals of those works have won a lot of Tony Awards. Just because someone's work doesn't win everytime they're nominated doesn't mean they're not appreciated. Given the number of awards, it's the attendance at Sondheim shows that is the problem, not the recognition. I place the blame for this primarily with the critics. The critics have tended to create the impression that Sondheim works are too intellectual for the ordinary theatre-goer. I personally don't think that it true, but the critics portray those works in that fashion. I've seen the original productions of all of Sondheim's works with the exception of Anyone Can Whistle. I like them but I'm afraid too many potential audience members are scared off.

Not sure how anyone with 8 Tony wins (a record for a composer -- no one else is even close) can be said to be underappreciated by the Tonys.

::le sigh:: I love Sondheim.
