Posted: 11/2/04 at 11:43amSo what's the deal with "Songs for a New World?" Is there a "book" of any kind, or is it just one song after another? I bought the CD because I love Jason Robert Brown, but the songs have so little to do with each other I can't imagine the show working without at least SOMETHING to link everything together...

The show was put together to be a showcase for Jason's music by Daisy Prince. But as they were assembling it, they realized that a lot of the songs were linked thematically, even though there were no through characters. Jason then wrote the opening and closing numbers to bookend the show. It's phenomenal! I played Man 2 and loved every second of it! 
Word. Word, indeed.
