Songs about holding onto your dreams

Hi everyone i was wondering if you all could help me. I have two friends who both need a song for their Lyric Theatre class. The song has to have the theme of following your dreams. One friend is a tenor 2 the other is a mezzo soprano.

I'd say A Way Back To Then from [title of show]

For the tenor, "Why" from tick, tick...BOOM! It's more about holding on to your dreams than following them, because the character is questioning the practicality of his dreams in the face of hardship. It's VERY emotional and is quite fulfilling to sing, especially if the singer can relate!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. They really helped. The boy might do Why and the girl is seriously considering doing Astonishing from Little Women. But now I have another favor to ask. Does anyone know of a duet they could which contains the same theme. So far I thought of:

The Next Ten Minutes-The Last Five Years

I also thought of Wheels of a Dream which would be perfecy except its for a soprano and bass, and my friends are a tenor and a mezzo. But anyway, any duet about holding onto your dreams for tenor and mezzo would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
