Hello all! I apologize in advance if this thread is on the wrong page, but I ask your indulgence...
I was hoping you all could help me compile a strong list of musical theatre songs - solos, duets, trios, ensemble numbers, etc. - that involve anything having to do with "SEASONS".
Obvious choices like Summer Nights, Winter's On The Wing, and Another Winter In A Summer Town are great -- please keep them coming... but other choices that might not be immediately apparent would be amazing!
Thanks in advance for taking the time to help with this... :) I love this site.
P.S. And yes, I have considered everything in the JERSEY BOYS repertoire... lol
"Dear Friend" - she loves me
"Autumn"- Titanic
"The Song of purple Summer" - Spring awakening
"a Summer in Ohio" Last five years
"spring is here" - Songs from an unmade bed
"If Ever I Would Leave You" from Camelot- has all the seasons in it.
Don't kill me! "Seasons of Love"
Sorry, Had to put it out there.
SEASONS OF LOVE from RENT
That seemed too obvious.
I'm not sure this fits your criteria but "Time Heals Everything" from MACK & MABEL immediately came to mind.
Thank you all for the suggestions thus far... Yes, SEASONS OF LOVE will probably be the title of the piece (cheesy, I know, barf, I'm just the musical director) -- and it was too obvious that I totally forgot about it. lol
Keep them coming! :)
"Octet" from The Light In the Piazza goes through all the seasons representing the phases of love. And it's a great song, one of my favorites of all time.
"The Lusty Month of May" from Camelot and "June is Bustin' Out All Over" from Carousel.
Springtime for Hitler... metaphorical seasons.
I Feel So Much Spring (again, metaphorical) from A New Brain.
"It Might As Well Be Spring"-STATE FAIR
And "Blame It on the Summer Night" from Rags.
"Warm Spring Night" from King David.
This might be a stretch, but "Too Darn Hot" from Kiss Me Kate.
"The Egg" from 1776.
"It's Hot Up Here" from Sunday in the Park With George.
And finally, "Springtime for Hitler" from The Producers.
Girl For All Seasons- Grease 2, movie musical
Summertime- Porgy and Bess
Our Last Summer (Mamma Mia), The Girls of Summer (Marry Me A Little), and in a less obvious way, Soon It's Gonna Rain (The Fantasticks).
