I'm going to see the tour in Boston in April..and I'm assuming the current tour cast is not going to still be there. Does anyone know who will be performing then?
Thanks..and sorry if this is a stupid question..and sorry to add another Wicked post to the board.

actually, Carol Kane is leaving in December, to be replaced by Carole Shelley for 11 weeks.
I beleive Stephanie is leaving in March sometime... not sure which city is her last or who will replace.
OT: Any word on replacements in NY in January?

I agree, you don't have to apologize :)I'm curious to see who will replace SJB. I thought Saycon was taking over when Sho leaves in January. Was that ever confirmed?
no, the case in which Megan and SHoshana took over for the other stars I think is case specific... I don't think that will be what they do all the time... it would be ridiculously convenient for them...but I don't think a lot of people like it... I don't know why... but it's also a chance to have virtual unknowns have some time as a cover for a major role on Broadway, and then become a star on Broadway forcing them into the spotlight, which will get them press, and ultimately other jobs, since now that the show has been running just two days shy of two years, not many giant names will be taking over any of the roles, I don't think...
Actually Kuhn, as a HUGE Wicked fan, I'm going to say that theese threads actually are quite irritating after a while.
Yes, SJB's contract is officially up in March, and she has allready told many people that she wont be renewing because 1 year is a LONG time in theatre-land. Her last stop will be either Cincinnati or Philidelphia.
I personally hope that Stephanie does get a chance to do the role on Broadway, at least for a while, because she got ROBBED out of the OBC.
I agree with you Julian. Shoshana went from a practially unknown to Broadway's baby after she took over Elphie.

"Shoshana went from a practially unknown to Broadway's baby after she took over Elphie."
I'd disagree with that statement. While she does appear in a lot of the Broadway special events and things of that nature, it's no more than ANY of the current "stars" on Broadway, which hardly makes her Broadway's baby.
It is unclear as to who is being replaced in the tour. Usually, an actor is offered a contract renewal, unless the producers of the show have an actor in mind for the part. The rest of the time it's up to the actor to decide whether or not to renew. I would guess one of the actresses covering Elphaba on the tour will probably take over, unless an actress with more of a name expresses interest. Same with the Chicago company.
According to Stephanie's website her remaining dates are...
HOUSTON Oct. 26 – Nov. 13, 2005
ST. LOUIS Nov. 16 - Dec. 4, 2005
HARTFORD December 7 - 18, 2005
WASHINGTON, D.C Dec. 21, 2005 - Jan. 15, 2006
TAMPA Jan. 18 - Feb. 5, 2006
FT. LAUDERDALE February 8 – 19, 2006
PITTSBURGH Feb. 22 - March 5, 2006
CINCINNATI March 7 – 19, 2006
You should never have to apologize for asking a question. I'm just sorry that you feel like you have to start off with a "sorry" just becuase it's a Wicked question.

I like Wicked too but I don't read every thread about it because not every post about the show interests me. So if someone wants to post a Wicked thread, they should be able to do so without control freaks trying to make them feel bad because because "they're" tired of it. No one tells us what we can or can not discuss in our day to day lives and the same thing should apply online, so long as the discussion is relevant and tasteful. The bottom line: control freaks scare me and I don't like the idea of nice people wielding to their hissy fits. If some people are this controlling online, I wouldn't want any part of their personal life. shudder
Back to the original topic: Stage Addict, I suppose it's still up in the air which performers you'll be seeing in April. Regardless, I'm sure the show will rest in good hands and hope you have a great time. I also hope you'll post a review of the show in April.

I feel bad that anyone should have to apologize for any reaon on a message board.
Post what you like. That's the point.
Have a great day!
I am really excited to find out who I will be seeing in February in NY. (Best friend bought tickets for my birthday)
As for Shoshana being Broadway's baby, didn't she alienate a lot of people with her comments about not wanting to do anything else on Broadway?
I actually have a Wicked question too and this seems to be the best place to throw it out there. I know that in San Fran Robert Morse left or was fired, depending on who you talk to. But weren't there also 2 other principals who left the run as well? Who were they and what parts where they playing? Anyone know this.....?

According to the article about Wicked on wikipedia, the other principal parts that were re-cast from San Francisco were Dr. Dillamond (with William Youmans replacing John Horton) and Boq (with Christopher Fitzgerald replacing Kirk McDonald).

As far as replacements for both tour an broadway are concerned, I don't understand why they would need to cast ANY "stars" in the roles. The show is doing fine without high profile actors. I could see them trying to do this if sales drop. That being said, it makes perfect sense for them to move up an understudy and bring in a fresh new talent to take over the understudy's job. If an understudy isn't living up to the expectations, then they won't get bumped up.
Most contracts end in March. Us New Englanders will probably have a new cast.

Again, most, if not all, of the cast were probably offered renewals, so don't be surprised if a lot of the current actors stay on.

Thank you!!! I've been saying this for months. "No need to forgive talent. Talent is a gift . . . . "
Just type Wicked in your title, and those that don't enjoy the show as we do can just not read it.
