Will any of these shows get a cast recording (for BroadwayConcierge)? There are recent versions of each so I'm unsure.

Fiddler seems like the only one just because they want to make easy money of the revival, and tourists love revivals and if they see a show they want a cast album ussaly. So just fiddler as my prediction. Color purple does not seem likely, but I could see Spring Awakening if some donor feels like it is nessacary. But then again, don't a fair among of actors not sing? So a video would be more likely.

I think if anything it's obvious Color Purple will get one. With Jennifer Hudson in the cast it seems foolish not to capitalize on it.

God, I hate you for "soundtrack."
Anyway, I certainly expect a Fiddler cast album—look at every single previous Sher revival. Color Purple could go either way, though I'd venture to guess it will record something as well. Chances of a Spring Awakening revival recording are slim, I'd say—especially given that the visual rather than the auditory is so elemental to this particular production.

Spring Awakening is definitely the least likely. Deaf West's Big River didn't get a cast recording as it's whole mission is to be accessible to the deaf community. In creating a cast recording, although you are in a sense preserving a show, you are making it inaccessible to the community that you are trying to engage. Just would seem wrong.

That's certainly a valid point. I would think there would be a way to address this problem, short of a prohibitively expensive video of the whole production... perhaps supplementary videos of the deaf actors interpreting the songs? But I gather that's not likely to happen, based on the precedent of Big River and the unfortunate lack of success for this stunning production of Spring Awakening.

There should never be a cast recording of a Deaf West show. Video or nothing.

I don't know why anyone would think that The Color Purple wouldn't get a cast album especially with Hudson on board.
